Oohhh please tell me more.... I really want to go to the gun store... boys and toys :D

I was at the gun store at the end of February with the OH for his birthday treat. It was really good and I'm a girl!!We just hopped in a taxi for approx $13. For both of us to shoot a hand gun and a machine gun it cost $99 and you can find a voucher for $5 off in most of the voucher books.
The guys there were really helpful and we were allowed to video the whole thing - quite amusing watching it back again.

This may be good for some, from the travelzoo top 20 this week. This is a VERY GOOD hotel with cheap gambling, just across from the Platinum on E. Flamingo. Just beware of the $15 a night resort fee:rolleyes:

    $89 -- Las Vegas 4-Star Hotel w/Breakfast, incl. Weekends*
    Las Vegas, NV
Top 20 deal - sells out quickly!
    Travel dates: March 22 - June 30

    By Ben Jennings
    Travelzoo Staff

Stay at the 4-star Westin Casuarina Las Vegas for only $89 -- including daily breakfast buffet for 2 and a $20 casino credit per stay.

This deal is good 7 days a week March 22 - June 30. Weekend rates at 4-star hotels in Vegas are regularly $250 and up.

The Westin Casuarina is just steps from The Strip, across from Bally's. Every room has a view of The Strip and features the famous Westin Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath. A hosted wine and cocktail hour is held nightly in its lounge.

    Blackout dates: April 21-25

For more information and to book through Westin, click here. Or call Westin at 866-716-8137 and ask for rate plan MARCHT. Note: A $15 per night hotel service fee applies.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

LA is strange place but somewhere you have to visit once in your life . and you will definatly need a car if you stay there .

agree with Ferf .. Warner Bros studio tour was one of the best things we have ever done as holiday activity . make sure you book it before you go .

a word of note , we had a long wait at passport control at LAX ( over and Hour !!) and were told the queue was over 2 hours earlier in the day. personally i would stay in LA for a day or 2 rather than fly ( or drive ) straight on .

I have never had an issue with customs or immigration in LA last time was the longest ever and getting off the plane to waiting for next plane was about an hour and that was only due to the fact that we had to be taken by bus to the terminal with the immigaration. I think my record in LA was about 32 minutes and I had a 46 minute transfer which I made ;) I guess I have been lucky Newark and Houston on the other hand were nightmares Houston was abuot 2 hours.

I was just about to post that one stoneman as I think it is a cracking off, especially as it's also $89 at weekends.

This is also a good offer. I only want to stay at the Encore for one night otherwise I would have booked it. I may yet. I just called them and the best rate they could give me for one night on a Sunday was $289 so you can see how good this deal is.
Experience Encore Las Vegas, the Wynn Collection's new $2.2 billion all-suite resort, for only $129 per night Sunday-Thursday through May 28. Regularly $299 a night, the resort is also throwing in a $50 resort credit per stay to use for dining and entertainment.

Also available: Friday and Saturday nights start at only $219 per night and also include the resort credit.

I had looked at doing Warner bros in LA in a couple of weeks time, we have been to Universal and when I looked on Warner bros website it didnt look to thrilling.

Now you and Ferf both recommend it can I ask why, what is there to do etc.

    Thanks

It's not a theme park like Universal so will be a lot different...it's a working studio and you get to ride around in a little cart and see all kinds of different sets - some of which you can walk around in, some of which you can't...when we were there they were filming a show (Drew Carey) so our guide got us around in a place out of shot so we could watch for a bit...we got to peek into a closed set (The Last Samurai) though we techincally weren't supposed to (they strictly control cameras - you have to put them away most of the time but they let you get them out when you can take pictures). The ER and Friends sets were really cool to us, and the museum (especially the Harry Potter section) was fun to look around.

We had a greatguide which obviously made a big difference - if the guide isn't good I can see it being really boring, but our guy seemed to know everything there was to know (he'd worked there over 20 years). If you're a big movie/TV fan it's a really fun thing to do...if not, it will probably be boring.

If you do a search here for 'warner brothers studio tour' it will give a lot of photos people have taken so you can get any idea of the sorts of things you would see.

One of those things I keep saying we will do and keep not getting around to it.

I checked out planet hollywood and it seems about $150 more in total than Flamingo's. Is it worth paying more to stay there?

I'm not sure when you are going, but here is an offer for the PH from $79/night

I stayed at Encore opening night and the following night and the room was awesome but the location was a bit of a pain and I would probably go back to Wynn instead next time but the wife would break my arms she loved Encore. I would not stay there for one night though you need at least 2 to make the most of it.

Well PH do some special rate offers which I guess might even it out with the difference in price?

First one offers 2 Spice Market Breakfast Buffets and 2for1 admission to PH Spa along with the room- Not sure what's involved in the buffet and how much it's worth. The 2 for 1 spa offer won't do me any good.

The other offer is room with a $40 Hotel Credit (not sure what you can use that for?) and $40 gaming bonus?

Compared to Flamingo's they are approx $40 more per night.

Have a look at these offers see if you can get somthing at Mirage which is far better than both or MGM http://www.vegasuncovered.com/pages/special_offers.htm
