Regarding breakfast at Ellis Island. Don't order the Ham and Eggs unless you haven't eaten for a while. It is enormous! I usually go for the NY steak and eggs breakfast special. Very good.

Have been looking to book Flamingo (still haven't done it!!!!!), but would you recommend Ballys over Flamingo??

It depends on what you want - I think you said a nice pool is important? Bally's is a rectangle (though it has a deep end)...it has many loungers and some palm trees, but it's not known to be one of the better pools in Vegas - certainly nothing on the ones at Flamingo. The rooms are very large which we like...the casino is a bit more laid back than most which we also like, but others feel it doesn't have any sort of 'vibe'...it's much more quiet than a lot of casinos which we also like...but others wouldn't. So it's hard to say...the cheaper rooms at Bally's haven't been refurbished and are pretty worn...we've always upgraded to the north tower without a charge but that won't be guaranteed. We wouldn't stay at Flamingo ourselves, but it's probably because we're kinda old farts who actually like a bit of calm to start end end our days. :)

Have you had the ham and eggs at Peppermill? Just wondering on how it compares...even Jamie couldn't finish that. :) He'll be happy to hear a good review of the steak and eggs as that's one of his favorites if it's on the menu.

Hi everyone. Hope you're all ok. Not been on the board for a few weeks due to wedding stuff. Viewed over a dozen venues now and still not sure what on earth I want!! OH happy to do what I want and I don't know whether to go down the Vegas route. We both do love Vegas, and I'm desperate to get back for trip no 4, which will either be for wedding or part of honeymoon.
Who got married in Vegas and where? Trets and Sew - am I right you two were married there (though not to each other :rotfl:) I remember Maggianos being mentioned for dinner - Sew was that you?

Pictures of (Hotel) Pools, Restaurants, Spa's, Rooms, Wedding Chappels etc
You probably all know about this... but, if you want pictures of pools / rooms / spa's etc etc, then this site is pretty good:

    http://www.destination360.com/north-america/us/nevada/las-vegas/las-vegas.php

Just click on your hotel on the left-hand side - this will load up a page dedicated to the hotel you selected with further links that have 360 degree pictures of pools etc...

    (plus additional information)

    Ie. Eifell Tower Restaurant:
    http://www.destination360.com/north-america/us/nevada/las-vegas/paris-eiffel-tower-restaurant.php

    Ie. Paris Wedding Chapel:
    http://www.destination360.com/north-america/us/nevada/las-vegas/paris-wedding-chapels.php

Hope this is useful... we use it for all our pool research! :D

We have been looking at the 25% off the Cirque show Love & looking at Cat 3 tickets - roughly $173 for both of us. Now there are 2 shows at the weekends - for those who have been do you feel is there much difference between the early/late show in terms of atmosphere etc?

I popped some info on this on my trip report earlier in the thread (we loved this show and I'd love to see it again). I popped down the seat numbers we had - the very back row and the seats were great. We went on a Fri night and the later show so we had some time to eat.

Edit - Just checked my report - Row CC, seats 15 &16, they were great.

I don't think £100 for two of you is underbudget
We found that we would have either coffee and a muffin for breakfast then something more substantial for lunch and then an evening meal....or a cooked breakfast a snack for lunch and meal in the evening.....we budgeted for £150 a day as there were 3 of us......Shows and shopping came out of a different budget
We went for 14 days and brought home around £300 from the food and drink kitty

MORPH3US, I can honestly say I would always have breakfast, lunch and dinner with bits in between at home (check out my signature - lol), but in Vegas the portions are enormous, so you'll rarely be able to eat 3 meals a day. I only ever budget for breakfast and dinner.

Some of the daytime things we've done, some in and some not in casinos. Cinema trip, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Elvis museum, shopping, Secret Garden, Gun Store (though that didn't go to plan), Shark Reef, Strat or Paris Tower.....
