OK done Comet/Curry's PC world etc....I'm leaning towards the Samsung NC 10 up to 6 hours of battery which I think would be adequate

Plus it comes in that pretty blue...that almost swayed me to it. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

What about pink! With all this chatting about these I've decided I want one too, but it has to be pink.

I booked Mandalay Bay through FatWallet and it's costing about £52 a night - but this is a Wednesday and Thursday so not peak time.

Luxor is about £34 a night and MGM was about the same.

I booked them through the links further back - I think it was Luci who posted the Mandalay Bay one.

It's 4 weeks today until we fly, although we start off in LA we don't get to Vegas until 1st April. Just hoping that the £ strengthens a bit.

Thanks, im just getting a bit sick of the weather right now so am going to head over for a couple of weeks. Looking like similar time as yourself.

I booked our trip back in September and it seems to have taken ages to come round. However, without this forum it would have cost me almost double and I am so grateful for all the advice that I've got from everyone on her.

What a great place this is.

I've got the first two nights at The Stratosphere as we want to see the other end of the Strip too, this is our lowest category hotel so we are doing this first.

What i usually do is stay up at Freemont (i love it there - getting p1ssed on $1 margaritas and Corona) I go for the weekend and its about £20pn, then move down to the Strip - but i always stay further down near Luxor/Mandalay etc.
Then when the weekend comes round i head down to Laughlin.

Save an absolute fortune doing that.

I wanted to go to Laughlin too, but when I mentioned it on here I got a poor response, and was told it wasn't a patch on Vegas. I think that whilst we are there will will have to go and have a look. I liked the idea of spending time by the river.

The $1 drinks sound a good idea, I will have to give that a go !!

The problem with this place though is that many people like to give advice - but how many have actually experienced what they are advising? I sometime wonder.

Laughlin is not meant to be Vegas, but it does have loads of good points about it. Vegas always leaves me feeling tired, Laughlin is 100m down the road and is a great place to relax. The Colorado River is beautiful, i always stay at Harrahs and its great with its own little private beach. Hire a Jetski for the day for about $120i think and just fly down the river calling off at some of the riverside restaurants/bars. I was hammered by the time i dropped mine off.

There are Casinos, cinema, mall, good reastaurnats and a huge Walmart. But the best thing is the attitude and climate. Because its one of the hottest cities in the USA (hotter than Vegas) the attitude reflects that and is really laid back and a much slower pace of life.

Also, im not sure when but throughout the year they have Rodeos there - a must.

    Oh - Its stupidly cheap.

I'm pretty sure everyone who cautioned against spending more than one night (if that) in Laughlin had been there themselves.

Laughlin has its time and place but in the scenario we were presented with it didn't really make sense.

I for one never offer advice unless I have experienced it first hand.

I have been to Laughlin and IMO it isnt worth driving 90 miles for.(the speeding ticket didnt help). It maybe worth it if you have been to Vegas a few times, but not on a first visit when there is so much to do and see in Vegas.

    I went for a rodeo.

To save money on a weekend I usually go to the Orleans $60 a night for my weekend coming up in March.
