Flamingo about £100 cheaper than Ballys for the week. Do you think that Bally's is worth the extra money??
Was in Trump last year but too expensive for this trip and have been to Circus Circus but never again - swarming with kids, couldn't move.
Any further recommendations within the same price bracket as The Flamingo etc. would be more than welcome! Thanks

For mid strip-decent pool and in that price range I suspect the Flamingo will be hard to beat as they are pricing very aggressively at the moment and you get Donny Osmond thrown in too ;)
Just don't book anything non cancelable as you may find a better deal closer to the time and need the option to cancel

I'm a bit too young to appreciate Donny Osmond but hubby on the other hand might enjoy it! Thanks for the advice re non cancelable hotels.

I'm a big fan of Bally's but if the pool is a big point and Bally's is that much more expensive, I couldn't honestly suggest it for you. Not sure what type of rooms you're looking at at each hotel, but most of Bally's south tower rooms haven't been refurbished and while a lot bigger than most hotel rooms on the strip, are quite worn..these are the rooms with the best views...you may get upgraded for free, but it's not guaranteed. The Bally's pool DOES have a deep end though - if that makes a difference to you...other than that it's a pretty boring rectangle though it doesn't seem to get terribly crowded...but it cannot begin to compare with Flamingo's pool complex.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

First month of the season - opening day is liable to be a sellout (along with the whole first home series if its a weekend series). Middle of the month the Red Sox come to town and thats the series I'd be aiming for! (Red Sox at Fenway have sold out every game since 2003). Angels are pretty well attended but tickets will be easy to get for most games, especially any day games during the week. Apart from the opening opponents and Boston, you're liable to have your pick of seats. It is an open ground and bleacher tickers will be from about $15-20 (be prepared to sit in the sun for numerous hours during a day game if you go for the cheapest tickets). The link from the teams website will allow you to see exactly where the seat is. There will be about 10-20 different price levels to choose from, and even tickets behind home plate will be available (as all MLB teams operate a system where season ticket holders can advertise their seat for particular games ....with 81 regular home games a season, you can understand why it makes sense!)

Don't forget folks that there is a AAA team in Vegas, the 51's (a feeder team for the Dodgers). $20 gets you the best seat in Cashman Field ...just think twice about going on $ beer nights!

The opening game is on the 6th, so looking to go on the 7th or 8th (tue or wed) evening games. the first three or four nights are all aginst the same team . I thought that was a bit odd, but i know nothing about baseball.
It seems that tickets go on sale in march sometime so i will keep an eye on their website.

Currently staying now in Bally's have moved around during this stay

I will not stay here again, not happy with the room, it is one of the upgraded rooms, even though it has been upgraded still a bit 'Dingy' but a fantastic location for the strip

Think I was spoilt at Rio, personally I will not stay in Bally's again

Thanks for previous replies. To clarify I'm looking for a cheap week in Vegas in July. Best prices so far are around £250 for the Flamingo and £360 odds for Ballys. Had a look on fat wallet but most of their promos end in April or May. The problem is we can't decide whether its worth paying the extra for Ballys. Any further recommendations or suggestions welcome.
