Its suppose to be as good as the post offic eone...
I've had a Nationwide account for over 20 years and their credit card for almost as long. You get bank rates on transaction the same as using the FlexAccount debit card.
The only time I've had a problem with it was trying to buy tickets at Tickets2Nite, which has now closed. The machine wouldn't accept my card and someone else on here reported the same thing at the same place.
Cost me over £50 in phone calls to try and sort it only to be told there was no problem with the card, there wasn't a block on it and it must have been that particular merchant. Right enough, it worked everywhere else.0 -

I'm no expert on Blackjack but would never hit on this. Simply because the chances of actually improving your hand are so slim - only A,2,3 can make it any better and you already have one Ace, not even counting how many others are on the table. If the dealer gets 19, nevermind, but I would prefer to make them play, rather than me make my hand worse and go out first.
Like I say, I'm certainly no expert but my theory is to stay in the game as long as possible. Once you bust, it's not good to you even if the dealer busts. I also try and get the first seat so I'm not affected by what everyone else does.
Will now have a read of the above link to try and improve !!
hmmm..... I suppose without punters playing less than perfect everything in Vegas would be more expensive, then again if ita all about "playing" rather than trying to make you fortune its all cool0 -

But you can take more than one card...so the variations that can make your hand better are numerous - not just limited to A, 2, 3...unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying? That's entirely possible.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI hope you don't mind if I give you a little advice. B/J is the only game in the casino where what has gone before affects what will happen next. All other games are pure chance. Because of this there is a mentality amongst A LOT of players that if you don't play "basic strategy" correctly you are ruining the game for the rest of the table. I have seen people get shouted at by other players when they deviate from the known way to play. Me, I just leave and find another table. Because of this I would suggest that you find a small denomination table IE $5 and at the most $10 until you become proficient in basic strategy.
Here is a little test. I am holding a soft 18 and the dealer is showing a 9, what should I do?
Indeed. My first time playing was ruined because everybody else got in a strop...I didn't know any better and it was my first time in Vegas...!!!!!! it was a $5 table in the Flamingo:rolleyes: , anyways it made me wary of playing BJ again which is a shame as it is the one table game I like....{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

I'm not a serious player and think it should be fun, I do what I feel is best at the time and work on the rule that if I lose 3 times in a row or have gone below my original $10 I leave the table. Last time I was there I played for 7 hours and won the grand total of $250.00. Not a huge win but I had loads of fun playing. By the end of the session I had drunk so many drinks I could hardly add up and the dealer was telling me what I had got. As I said, not a serious gambler but it was huge fun.0 -

Quite correct, I'm never likely to win a fortune, but neither will I lose much. That suits me down to the ground, have a little fun and not spend a great deal !But you can take more than one card...so the variations that can make your hand better are numerous - not just limited to A, 2, 3...unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying? No misunderstanding. However, anything other than A,2,3 will make your hand worse, which then forces you to take more cards (otherwise no point in taking the first). For example, you hit another 7 on soft 18, so you then have 15. Now, to improve on your initial 18, you are still looking to get one of 3 cards (now 4,5 or 6). The bottom line is you will always be looking to hit one of 3 cards to improve, although the cards required will vary as your hand progresses.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to tell people how to play the game, merely explaining how I play, which is for fun !!0 -
The Volcano @ MirageI used to play a lot of BJ but I actually find it boring now, that does not mean I will not play but I tend to play more Craps and for fun hav a burn on the fun games with terrible odds, Let it Ride, 3 Card Poker and Caribbean StudIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0

The Bellagio Fountainstingtong, that's exactly what you should do, play your own way. I was just advising the poster to be wary of playing high stakes tables without the knowledge of basic strategy. Tracy and I were having a laugh on a table one night, we couldn't lose a hand if we tried, everyone else was having fun even when they lost, just a real nice table, so Tracy gets to Queens against the dealers 6 so she splits them just for fun, she lost both hands but it was a laugh. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

The Fremont street experienceOh, one more very important thing, DO NOT PLAY ON A TABLE THAT OFFERS 6/5 ON A BLACKJACK . As a general rule most tables inside the casino offer 3/2 B/J and the ones where the pretty girls are dealing along with any tables that are set up in the entrances offer 6/5.illegitimi non carborundum0
