The fee at the ATM in Casino Royale was only $1 last May. Most are $4 or $4.99.

ack...I meant bank rate of exchange, not interest...you all know that, but as I've noticed my error I wanted to point it out.

I also like the Post Office credit card for the same reasons (for those purchases I prefer to charge)...bank rate of exchange, no fees.

If you don't have the Nationwide Flex Account, PO credit card (or I think Abbey Zero is similar) then getting cash beforehand might be cheaper than withdrawing in Vegas when you factor in your bank's charges and the sub-standard rate they will give you.

We use our Nationwide account exclusively for holidays and have saved a bundle...think it was pebbles when we were on Open Vegas who first encouraged me to sign up...absolutely worth it if you have time before your trip.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Nationwide cut my flex account overdraft limit this month , because "your account does not have the activity to warrant it"

i.e you only seem to use it when you go on holiday :D:D;)

Ha! I wonder if they did the same for us? I'm terrified of overdraft facilities (they aren't nearly as common in the US so I never got used to having one except for extreme emergencies).

    .

I have a Lloyds Bank Money card with $2k on it that is for emergencies or emergencies liek "wow I really want that" and it was topped up over he last few years with the lowers rate being about $1.81. Other than that everything is cash as I said I get bank rate at work and I am not worried about carrying large amounts of cash until I get to the hotel safe. Last trip I ended up charging $169 to my credit card and that was it.

with the exchange rate not being to great at the moment, would we be better off taking money out of a cashpoint while we are over there?
I hope by now you have read all the correct replies and gone and got yourself a nationwide flex account and a PO credit card.

Please read martins sticky on travel money, it will tell you all about these accounts/cards

    Quick question....

4 of us are going to Vegas in May and are busy commiting the Blackjack optimised strategy to memory....

I was wondering, which casino's are funny about you having the cards with the strategy on at the tables....

And what are casino's like about people (playing) helping others (players) at the table.....

i.e. if my fiancee and I are playing and she doesn't know what to do, could I tell her to hit / stick etc, or is that frowned upon?

I have seen people with the cards at most casinos with no problems at all but to be honest you will learn it in an hour or two of play. They will generally be ok with you giving your missus advice as long as its a game where the cards are dealt face up, so single hand decks they will not be happy.

The casinos sell the cards in their gift shops- so they dont really care that much about the cards being on the tables (not any i playedf at). As for helping each other i also didint see anyone complain- in fact ask the dealer and they will tell you what to do in most cases
