Thanks for this. I just phoned my isp [Orange] for my MAC code and was asked why i wanted it.Having nothing to hide i told them. And was offered a new contract of £9.99pm with first 6 months free and with a wireless modem too.As i currently pay £17.99pm its a rather nice saving..
Maybe asking for your MAC code from your current isp would work for you too?

I was also interested in this offer and I called BT this pm. I currently pay way over the odds at £17.99 just for broadband but they have offered me just over £8 a month for bb and offered me a reduction of £2 on my line rental for my phone and also given me free eve calls too and a free BT hub.
Thought this was a good offer so will probably go for this to save all the hassle of changing over provider.0 -
I am not sure whether Redned is after the O2 discount or just the Quidco. if the latter then it is is confusing as, as he says, it asks for a Mobile Mumber. I see no reason why after going to the site via Quidco that he could not just go to the Home Broadband page and get the non discounted price.
Yes, sorry I didn't make that clear-I was just after the quidco, not the O2 discount. However, even if you go to the Home Broadband page, after checking your phone line, it still wants a mobile no-O2 or not. There isn't an option for "No mobile" and if you leave it blank, it returns an error. Even if you go via the "Switch to O2" it wants a No. Just think it's a strange way to get new broadband customers! That's why I thought it should be mentioned that it appears only those with a mobile (O2 or other) can get this offer.0 -

Hi, it does seem a bit of a Catch22, the only thing I can think of is to get an O2 PAYG to get the number and then sign up up for Broadband.
This would mean to start with you could also get the O2 discount. There would be no necessity to continue with the PAYG if you didn't want to but of course you would then use the O2 discount. Still I think you would get a minimum of 3 months discount which would pay for the PAYG for that period;)
Good Luck

I wonder if my Tesco mobile number would be good enough as they use O2 don't they?Saving money right, left and centre0

I think some confusion is creeping in.
Any mobile number will do, it does not have to be O2. Of course I would expect that the number you use would need to be registered with the applicant at the same address etc. In case they use it as part of any credit check etc.
Cheers

Thanks Alan. But I meant would a Tesco mobile number qualify for the O2 discount as Tesco use O2?Saving money right, left and centre0

Hi sorry if I misunderstood. I dont know much about Tesco, if you get billed from O2 I guess it would count, if bill is from Tesco then dont think it would.
Still if you are on a PAYG you could switch to O2 PAYG and port number if you wanted to.
Cheers

Good deal.
Can you go through Quidco twice using the same account for two different O2 broadband connections?:cool:0
