Just got basic o2 home broadband for free for 18 months as a part of my o2 sim only phone deal....which is 200xmins plus 400txt for £10/m plus a £75 credit onto the account. 18 month contract.

    Pretty good I reckon!

Ordered o2 broadband on Monday evening after getting my mac code from AOL(which i recieved in less than 30 mins)and have recieved texts telling me what was happening and when.Quidco tracking at £70 but only said £25 when i signed up so a nice bonus if it goes through.Today i recieved the router and am really pleased with o2 so far, connection on the 2nd feb.
Is anyone able to update on the o2 Broadband offer - is it still tracking at £70 (ie has anyone tried it since Save2spend on 29/1/09?) and has anyone had their cashback revert to the reduced amount of £25

I'm thinking of getting a BT line and asking O2 to be my ISP. I was looking at Quidco and their £25 cashback, but it states £25 for standard home broadband. So this means I won't get anything if I sign up for O2's Premium, or Pro? I'm after the former.

    Ditto...

I would also like to know... currently without any broadband. Waiting for a decent deal... like the £70 cashback.
  • Had o2 BB for 2 weeks now and all is well, when i signed up through Quidco it said £25 cashback which i was quite happy with but it tracked at £70 and still is (keeping my fingers crossed).:D

Fantastic. Thanks for that. I've been checking quidco regularly for last few days as I was sure they would do something similar again. Ordered the standard yesterday.

Those people who got the £70 c/b with the first 3 months free have got a great deal tho.

O2 must have seen a huge sign-up with that marketing excercise so they've probably done it again now to help the end of year results.

I contacted Quidco and they confirmed the cashback for O2 is ineed just for their Standard broadband, i.e. you won't get it if you sign up to Premium or Pro. So, my plan is to sign up to Standard. Wait for the cashback, 2 months iirc, then, if my line will take it, upgrade to the Premium. Companies normally allow you to upgrade a service quite easily, don't they? Any reason why this shouldn't work? :money:

Looks like the o2 broadband offer via Quidco is back up to £70:
    http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilities/internet-providers/o2-home-broadband/
The "savvy tips" on the Quidco homepage also states "plus one months free line rental" which is a little confusing - does this mean you also have to take out a home phone package or does it actually mean you get one month's free broadband (not line rental)?

I missed out on the last £70 cashback offer, so I jumped on board when it went up from £25 to £50. I actually went through Topcashback on the last day (28/2/09) and it is tracking at £50, but for new applications it is now showing as £25 on TCB, so it looks like this new £70 cashback promotion might be exclusive to Quidco (unless they've just messed up and it's still showing as £70 from the last promotion, instead of going down from £50 to £25).

EDIT: just noticed that the o2 broadband website now states one month free for new signups - looks like I've missed out on one free month in addition to an extra £20 cashback
