Why has nobody mentioned my favourite shop to hate, Carpetright? Can anybody remember them NOT having 20...30...40...50...60...70...80% off carpets?0

I love it when they have loads of advertising saying there is a certain product available at a very low price to get the customers in, failing to mention there will probably be only five of them at each store.0

Harveys have been advertising the same mirrored wardrobes in their sale thats advertised on TV at £299 for the past 2 years.:mad:I Can resist everything, except Temptation x:o0

I'd like Homebase added to the list. Their pricing for sale item went like this
NORMAL PRICE: £24.99
SALE PRICE: £14.99
This item was on sale locally elsewhere
NORMAL PRICE: £9.99
SALE PRICE: £6.99
They need to wise up, they must think we are fools.0 -
I agree about Homebase, they are advertising table and chairs for £299 we brought exactly the same last jan for £179!!!0

Rather than just venting our views here we should do something about it. Copy this thread, paste it onto a flyer headed "THIS SALE IS A RIP OFF" and stand outside of some of these stores for a few hours, handing out flyers to warn people. Collectively we could make a difference. If anything it could let the big store owners know that we as collective consumers are not stupid and not standing for this rubbish any more. All these shops should be named and shamed in the media for using the credit crunch to rip people off even more.if i had known then what i know now0

Madness - but I think we are getting more switched on to these companies..which will hopefully force them into having real 'genuine' sales!!!!
Are we? Not according to the whopping increase of shoppers in stores Boxing Day onwards?
Also, there have been many posters here directing us to products, but to be honest, there have been a lot of things that are far from bargains, sale or otherwise, especially some from WHSmith.0 -
my husband brought me a debut dress from debenhams before xmas in the sale online and was £110 down to £33 and today looked at debut dresses and the same one is £100 down to £55!!!!0

I raised this before Christmas, see the following threads:

Like you this caused me a lot of problems, because I wasn't prepared to pay double just before Xmas.0
