  • I haven't spent a thing today - not on ANYTHING let alone on things that are forbidden.

I haven't actually left the flat but I have been looking to see what I can use up foodwise. I have soooooooo much food and no space for new stuff. I can't even batch cook my freezer is so full. I feel some extensive meal planning coming on.

So far I have used up some unwell looking peppers in some pasta sauce that I turned into a pasta bake which will see me through tomorrow (accompanied by some slightly limp broccoli) and maybe monday lunch too. Monday night is chilli making night to use up the passata I opened to put a wee bit into the pasta sauce (and some of the red wine that has been opened for two weeks) the kidney beans are soaking as I write. Then lunch for the rest of the week is the soup that I made at the start of last week which my freezer is packed out with.

Ho hum - note to self - this isn't money saving oldstyle :rotfl:

sorry, I just started planning and it came out of my fingers into the keyboard

Sarah I'm in my jim-jams too! Lazy day today, watching 'Over The Hedge' with the little dude for the thousandth time, doing daily clicks & just trying to work up the energy to go and dig out some unopened bits to eBay!

Repeats to self *must destash, must destash*!

I'm also going to try & do a mini-challenge of wearing make-up everyday this week - I'm just too lazy to put a full face on for the school run, but my self-confidence is boosted no end if I do - and I'm never going to get through all this stuff if I don't put in a bit more effort! :rotfl:

Well done to everyone who's still on the straight & narrow - this must be my most read thread on MSE, great for boosting the will-power! :T

No need to apologise, you've inspired me to load up the slow-cooker & empty the fridge of random bits - it'll be a bit of a lucky dip tea tonight!
I love the way one bit of MSE gives impetus to another! :T

I made some more 'bendy soup' last night, using up old potatoes, carrots, parsnips and an onion. :) It's all in portions in the freezer, ready to take for lunch. It must be good, because my b-i-l likes it, and he doesn't do veggies! :T

Having a NSD day today - can't afford to do anything else... not after my overspend in groceries yesterday. *sigh*

    Happy Sunday everyone. :)

LOL cheers hun - glas to be of service

The thing is I am a complete OS voyeur and love reading the threads but I never post over there, not sure why, I may head over and introduce myself. Their tips have helped me so much over the last year (Stardrops and Soda Crystals devotee here :D )

  • Hi everyone,

Day 9 for me and I'm still going strong. I'm really enjoying finishing things off and not having so much clutter. I haven't missed magazines at all, in fact it's a relief not to have them cluttering up the house waiting to be read!

I am finding books harder tho, there was a cookbook I saw on Amazon which normally I would have bought. But I resisted and got it out the library instead. I will be buying it once the challenge is finished tho. ;) It's called "The Use-it-all Cookbook" (by Bish Muir) and it's got loads of great ideas and recipes for using up leftovers. :money: Today I have used up all the bits lurking in the fridge and veg rack to make a chicken and veg pie, and then had apple fritters for pudding to use up some apples which were on their way out. Both were v yummy! So for all of you wondering what to do with that lone carrot and bit of mouldy cheese, this book is fab!

Evening to everyone. Well that's Day 49 over for me and happily I did not succumb to buy anything from QVC on Beauty Day! :D:D:D

I did not fall for the persuasive talk about how much we need all of these things. Luckily I can see how much I already have and have taken notice of this challenge to help and save money today

    In the past I would have spent a fortune. V.V pleased:j :j :j :j

:T Yay FedUp! I survived the day as well, although I did watch WAY too much Beauty Day... well it is a Sunday I guess! I even managed to avoid buying the TSV for MiL's b'day ( a cheaper and more thoughtful option will be out there, and its not til June)

I went through my toiletries cupboard this morning and have now listed a couple of items on ebay. I'm on my last full size cleanser and moisturiser, but MiL bought me some minis for Xmas, so its gonna be a few weeks still before I need to buy any more :D

Breakfast and lunch for tomorrow is sat next to my handbag ready to take to work..... and I'm actually not missing the chocolate today...
