Sadly hundreds more cats and dogs will be unwanted after the new year
Why are people are like this, it's ot just a few, but hundreds of people dump their pets but why? Why get a pet in the first place?
You know what, until vets in this country start neuturing/spaying animals early before they are sold to people this sort of thing will continue to grow. Breeders would then be able to neuture/spay their pups and kittens knowing the new owners cannot profit from them but until then it will get worse and worse but hey what the heck they are only animals after all

Dont know Kimberley. I think its a general attitude in consumer society - their feelings can only be shallow and they want a new model come a new year. Life has little value to them - I was listening on the radio to a chap who had written in a newspaper (one of the broadsheets) that he had released his hamster into the wild because it had bitten him. Now the guy and the interviewer were obviously finding it amusing that people had actually protested about this article - and I thought it just typifies peoples attitudes, that a life is worthless. To me every little life deserves respect and care - thats our job as humans to ensure that they receive this care - laughing about what no doubt was a painful death of a tiny creature either starving because he didnt know how to forage, or being abused by people or eaten by another animal, is just so typical of the shallowness of people nowdays.
BTW FC and Lily - the elderly staffie modelling that coat belongs to one of the volunteers (who has another 4 dogs). She was a poundie some years back and had some horrendous problems - dear little soul getting on now but still living life in comfort and dignity with a loving owner.0
