  • Hi I have been reading this site for a while, flitting in and out and finally registered yesterday. So this is my first action! I am interested in the live on 4k for a year but cannot see how this is done. I note in your thread that you detail all your spending, do you set yourself a target for each and everything at the start of the year? And if you don't mind me asking you all these questions, where you do get the challenges from?

Most importantly is your bathroom ceiling painted yet? thanks

Cleared a small amount I had built back up on la-redoute (realised i had £15.00 still clearing when i paid remainder off), so ordered daughter a coat which took me just over the £15 i would have been in credit. Anyhow called and paid over the phone rather than by paying online and have changed my account from a personal credit account to a cash account. They have closed the credit account down now, and will call me back with a new account number for cash account.

Yes the bathroom ceiling is now painted:rotfl:.

The 4k a year challenge is on the main DFW forum here is the link to the start of it, you only really need to read the first few posts, the first post has a link to the second new shiny thread of the challenge. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=16817609&postcount=1
Each person works their budget out differently. As well as using a spending dairy online, I keep a paper ledger where I have my yearly targets for £4k worked out in. My £4k doesn't cover EVERY expense, my debts, college costs and kids school costs are separate, as well as holiday costs and the animals vet costs.

Avon orders are looking really low at the moment, so doubt I will be making much commission if any on them at present.:(
