It's very bad if you're a saver! Savers like high interest rates, mortgage holders like 'em low.

aha but im now both a mortgage holder and a saver but i think its better for me as the mortage should go down by another £30/month wheras i wont make that musch in intereston the the measily £1377 i have in savings!

Off to a housewarming do tonight so im going to get a bottle of nice wine ive seen in coop for £2.99 (Cheap moi?)so a nice MS evening, tea will be eggs chips and beans as we've practically run out of food.Just have half a jar of tahini paste in the fridge from my botched attempts at making houmus!

aha i did try went in before i caught the train to edinbrough for my season ticket starting on mon quoted martin who'd been on GMTV that morning and they told me that he was incorrect and that as my ticket started after the 2nd it would have to be at the higher price humph!

Bought my monthly ticket the other day and it was higher at £169 so Sir Martin was right and getting it before the second was cheaper and the man at the ticket office was wrong! (Id forgotten how much a monthy one was as sometimes id been getting a weekly ticket which is daft as its £6/m more expensive.)

Not been able to add to the total so far- still doing quidco everyday, but seem to be spending rather than saving. OH has booked us a night in a v posh hotel on sun for £35 for two inc breccy (he works in the hotel sector)although ive now run out of money i'll be paid on the 16th so it should be ok.

On valentines day we've decided only to spend £5 on eachother so i have to get creative!

Morning to anyone who's reading this..i think this must be the most boring diary ever to people so apologies to that!
Well got paid today so have put£495 into the savings account and now have the garnd total of £1873 saved(The interest is actually higher than i thought it was its at 3.2% which im thinking is quite good??). Going to be a really tough month though as have that posh hotel & day out in Durham on the mon to pay for and also need to get my hair coloured ~& cut so cue another £60 to Tony and Guys eek.

im going to right my daily spends down in this here diary (as suggested yonks agao by some nice people) as i completey ran out of money last month and it was only by getting paid on fri and dipping into my sisters money that she gives me to pay her debt on my credit crad that saved me! I didnt go out at all last week apart from the cinema on weds which my mum paid for so i dont know where all my money goes!

Ok so I said yest that I’d write down my daily spends, I think ive remembered everything as I have quite a bad memory and im sure ive missed something!

Anyway spent my £10 M&S voucher from pigsback on 2packs of lamb mince, 2 packs of nice sausages & a haggis which I think is good as that’s 7 main meals.
Then spent £6.05 on fruit and veg so the rest of the £50/wk food money I’ll put towards the meal we’re going to have at the hotel on sun night (as its miles from anywhere we’ll have to have a meal in their restaurant)

So that’s the joint account money taken care of now onto my spending,

    Fri
    Booze £10

    Sat
OH valentines pressie & can of baked beans(for the fry up I made OH for brekky in bed) £5.05
Tyre for Brompton as I cycle by the canal that is covered in broken glass so keep getting burst tyres so spent money on one that doesn’t burst £18.49
    Shoes from market £10
    Lunch & booze £20
    Apron £1
    Drinks in pub £4.20

I spent much more than I normally do on sat. For OH valentines pressie I made the card and decorated a cardboard box then I wrote out some love poems, put a load of sweets and rolos in and also printed out some vouchers saying stuff like I promise to make you brekky in bed or I promise to wash up that kind of thing.

Well I also put down that I promise to give you a treat so when we were in town and we passed a really nice Italian deli that’s recently moved into posh new premises he said Id like my treat now and id like a meal here please! Had to admit that it was a lovely meal and v nice way to spend valentines day but that’ll teach me to give him a voucher with such a vague inscription!

    Thurs
    Stardrops
    Bread
    Rubber gloves
    booze for OH
    butter
milk approx £10 (don't know exact figure as OH got it all)

Received letter from HSBC people to say mortgage was going down to £412.59:p will go down again next month too :T

Not doing much today so i'll do a menu plan so the food bill will be really cheap-one thing ive noticed in writing my spend down this week is apart from a pair of £10 shoes from the market & £1 apron ive got nothing tagible to show for it as most of it is in my tum! We also spend way too much on booze received a £20 money off voucher from virgin wines and im seriously considering getting the 12 bottle case as it works out at 3.33/bottle for nice wine.

Ive got a dentist app later also received a letter from leeds hosp fund yest to say my payments to them will go up to £13.87(this gets taken from my pay so haven't put it on my SOA) im wondering whether to stay w/ them or nt they pay for teeth and hospital stays and things like that mmmmmm?

    OH is really struggling w/ this savings malarky and has asked to borrow some dosh from me to see his team play on sat. Thinkming of reducing the amount we save to £360/ month heres how;

    1873already in there
    40quidco
    60money owed from friend
    5ciao
    10valued opinions
5interest (guesstimate-bit thick dont know how to work out interest)
