Woken up early again really must sort this out-could be something to do with falling asleep at 8pm in front of the telly last night. Glam moi?
Anyway put another £10 in the savings account as only spent £40 on food. Im just waiting till the end of the month now to put another £492 in woo woo.

ive just done a comparison for the gas/leccy and it says i'll save £120/yr if i go with npower (currently w/ atlantic) and £20 cashback but martin says wait (the red light is on!) until they follow BG in lowering their prices.
  • Hi Cocalls
I see that you stuffed the monthly target of £835.00 for January, even before the end of month injection.
Just wanted to say well done, and wondered what your final figure for January was? The more you save now, the less there is to save later!

    hi there
Sorry ive been away for a while i had nothing to add until the end of the month and then our antivirus subscription ran out on us and we couldnt get on tinternet. Cue loads of calls to sky as we couldn't figure out what the prob was but we've now managed to get our hands on a free download one so all good.:o

Right savings wise I transfered £464.22 in there the other day (not sure where the 'lost' £30 went to so need to look at SOA again i thought the mortgage was going to go down loads but its just had £30 taken off so now down to £430)so the total figure is standing at a healthy £1377:j and thats only after one month :T
of course the figure cant be that high nxt month as some of that we had saved already and were one offs but im really chuffed. So im well on target.

We've managed to cut our car ins to £37.99 so a bit off(No cashback boo) but its for comprehensive cover which is better than before as we only had 3rd party and considering my driving i think its a very good idea!
Just got to convince OH to get rid of his bank acc fee now!
Im going to try and write down my spends as i think im really wasting money on snacks and rubbish. I managed to convince myself not to get a coffee at the staton yest by thinking of the money in the savings acc but tis hard!

It's very bad if you're a saver! Savers like high interest rates, mortgage holders like 'em low.

Although frankly, a move from 1.5 - 1% isn't really going to make much difference to savers. We're already getting shafted on interest anyway! It'll be interesting to see how many banks will pass this cut on - we must be close to the point where people will decide it's not worth it and do other things with their money. Banks will want to keep deposits so maybe we're getting close to the bottom of the cuts.....maybe!
