    hello
Did anyone miss me? Was waiting until i could actually add to the savings account before id update as OH is uming and arring over how much he can afford to put in but my Quidco money came through today so the total is up to 2854.05 its going v slow just need OH's contribution to lift it above £3000.
I've got the money from green metropolis to pay out over the book and the piggy bank is getting full again s that'll fuel my need to top up the saving in the next few days before i get paid.

OH still not put his share of the money in and im a bit worried in case he says he cant afford t put anything in im so desperate for it to go to £3000 anyway in my quest to find more money ive been scanning the ground and picking up any pennies i see so i found a wallet which had money in but also a contact address so i phone the guy and he came round to collect it with a bottle of wine & easter egg to say thanks so that was my good deed of the day well rewarded, however a few days later i spotted a carrier bag and when i looked in there was a DVD which someone had bought and a receipt to say they'd paid in cash, i ummed & ahhrd whether to hand it in but to whom? So im ashamed to say i took it to the shop and got a DVD i wanted and £5.95 in cash which ive added to the savings. So it now stands at £2860

Just read your thread from start to finish, looks like you are doing really well! I find the easiest way not to spend money on rubbish is simply not to have money and/ or a debit card with me. So on a night out I take some cash and my house key in a little purse with a loop for my wrist and that is it (you can easily get a lippy in too). There is always a little cash in the house for an emergency cab home anyway - safety first! :p

Maybe you could do the same when with your family? Maybe your OH could take out of the bank however much pocket money he needs for the week and that's it? Cash really focuses the mind on can you afford it and do you really need it dilemma.

Thanks it's always nice to know what other people do to save money-my family i'll give up on as they'll always be rubbish (altho my older sis reckons she'll be debt free in two yrs time and be the proud owner of 3 properties!)with the Oh half i really dont know where his money goes the trouble is with getting it all out at the beginning of the week is that he'll proberbly will have spent it all that day! When he started writing down his spends the other week he spent a lot on other people say at work(£20 for a leaving pressie £10 for charity sponsership)and a lot at tescos as he eats the sangers i make him for elevenes! (i've given him 1 1/2 sangers today to stop this!)

hi all did you miss me i know you did-was just waiting until i could actually add to the savings before updating.
Haven't heard from Leeds BS yet but i'll let them off as we have had 2 bank holls in between!
I was chatting to a man on the train the other day and he asked me if he wanted a voucher typr thingy as he didnt need it, a took it from him but i wasn't sure what it was for but when i went to get my season ticket i asked if this voucher could go towards it and i got £25 off my ticket yeah!!!
Anyway i got paid today and have put £500 in wooppppeeeeeeee(was paid £75 over as a backdated payrise thank you unions!) now according to the balance it's at £3003.69 :confused:so i must be a couple of quid out on what i thought id put in anyway we're up to £3503.69 now:beer::j:j:j

How about that! I think OH will be putting in less and less as he has his cycling holiday in russia in aug and also our holiday on arran.

Forgot to mention out mortgage is now down to £378.99/month, im really sorry to all those who have lost jobs and are really struggling at the mo but quite honestly ive never been as rich as this in all my life!
