I have a Mulberry bag that I bought in 1999 for £200  but I am still using it (and still love it
) every day - so I consider it to be money well spent!

I will have you know my "style of counting" allowed me to stay in this challenge for 8 whole months. So it is doable;).Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hey guys,
Arwen - thanks for that idea, it sounds great if you have a group of local friends of similar size & with similar taste in clothes
Mum2one - For a good quality bag that I truly loved & knew would last for years then I would happily spend a 3 figure amount IF I had it available without resorting to credit. Once I am debt free it will be nobobdy's business but mine what I choose to spend my hard earned money on
;).
Until that time, I am here for guidance, & temptation avoidance. Havent even looked at the M&S bag again, you lot made me feel guilty & are very very mean:rotfl: - confession works though
As to the offer of the bag as a gift I agree with Museumworker
Can I just say that it is not true that your partygoers need to be same age/taste in clothes/dress size?
I had people at my clothes swap party from age 16-75 (no joke).Remember fashions just come full circle, and a lot of the "oldies" had 60's/70's/80's original stuff gathering in their loft that the "kids" went daft over.
And some of the "oldies" aren't in their dotage yet and aren't ready for BHS/Bon Marche (no offence).
I wore Pixie boots and leggings in the 80's/90's, my daughter is now wearing them. And aftere a few drinks, you are a bit more willing to get out of your "comfort Zone" of clothes, and try some really great outfits.
Aside clothes parties, I used to be a real snob about Primark. The shop used to bring me out in hives. My bank balance and paying off my debts taught me not to be so proud. If you look carefully, Primark can be fabby. My DD bought a fabby dress for £17 to go to a wedding. When I saw it,I thought it was Oasis, fully lined and dead heavy. I could not BELIEVE she got it in Primark, and someone wants it for her Bridesmaids dresses for her wedding next year.:rotfl:Debts :Paypal £1981.32

Well I'm feeling quite good about myself. Having decided to join late - and therefore having a limit of £25 ... I still haven't spent any of it yet :A. Good thing about this is knowing that I've said I'll only spend £25 - so it had better be worth the wait rather than just buying stuff for the sake of it. Am really pleased (so far).
Have got lots of clothes in a range of sizes  and as long as I don't put on any more weight (surely, not possible given how huge I am at present) then I really can't see I need any more clothes. Have 3 party dresses for Christmas in 3 sizes (small, medium, large) and I know my 'large' dress will fit. So, no excuse.
I might treat myself in the January sales - but we'll see.
Keep not spending ladies ...0 -
I couldn't possibly...what, with my Ebay addiction?!:o
A few years ago, i'd have plenty of change out of £100 over a year...not anymore tho...and i have less money now then i did then! What's all that about?!
May be time for a new years resolution...hmmm...0 -
Hi all. No new clothes since the Asda buys last week but I do need some new roll necks and feel very low on clothes as I took masses to the charity shop last week -don't know what came over me.
Very fed up on Monday as PUT ON 2.5 lb after half term week. I have been fairly good this week (except 10 custard creams on Tuesday) but struggling at the moment. I so want some chocolate but mustn't weaken as my husband has just joined me in dieting following a bit of heart scare.
Is it too early to go to bed??0 -
Today I bought a M&S blouse and a M&S cardi, but as they are seconds from the incomparable Dewhirsts, were on the 'reduced' rail @ £3 and £4 & as I had a free £5 voucher I just paid £2 cash
The cardi is pale blue with 3/4 sleeves in fine cotton jersey so I'll keep it till next summer.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Got another dress for work today, reduced from £28 to £10, and paid for with a voucher so it doesn't affect my amount! Even managed to wander round primark and didn't like anything and resisted the reduced price coats (very nice black double breasted long military style jackets if anyone's interested reduced from £25 to £15).0
