  • I dont know if its too late to join but I would love to join in with this! I am a total nightmare when it comes to clothes shopping, I mean I buy for the sake of it in the bid to look alright as I have put sooooooo much weight on and none of my clothes fit but hey its easier to go buy but its not the attitude to have.....

Am trying to save as much money as I can so this would be good for me, I know its nearly May but even if I could join in now it would be a great help!!!

Look forward to hearing from you!!! I am new to MSE so my aim is to get involved and hopefully turn my BAD spending into NOT AN ISSUE!!!!!

Right time for an update from me. I've bought a few bits off ebay which I would never have done before and they are lovely apart from one dress that is v.snug indeed! It's either a diet or a resale for that one!

Coast stripey cashmere tunic jumper in purple stripes £12
Betty Jackson Studio silk floral dress £2.99
Laura Ashley Vintage Red shift dress £10 (too snug at the moment :o)
YBF by Stacey Hankerchief hem dress £14

    TOTAL SPENT £38.99
MINUS £5.00 for selling an item of clothing on there
    NEW TOTAL SPENT £33.99

    £71.42 - £33.99

NEW TOTAL LEFT £37.43
Oh dear better get selling my clothes again to get money neutral. The plus side is all the money came out of my paypal account funds from selling things on ebay to help me declutter.

I also bought 2 jackets which are lovely 2 Betty Jackson jackets. One black shorter style with a lovely collar in a fifties inspired style which was brand new for £25 (for a possible interview in the future) and a lovely boyfriend style one for £2.99. Luckily coats aren't counted on here, or shoes, as I also got a pair of green jigsaw sandals for £16 for the summer.

Better think real hard about what I need after the summer as that total is tight!! I think I'd better ask for clothes for my birthday later on in the year! Mind you I never know what to ask for so at least that decision is easy this year!

I am thinking much more carefully about what I will wear and whether it is worth buying than I ever did before, and I haven't bought a new bag at all which were always a bit of a weakness for me. Need to rein in the coat things now as have plenty

That is what I did, & I am really pleased with my clothes at the moment as I planned outfits/groups of clothes rather than just buying 'bargains'.

As long as I keep up with the ironing I have plenty to wear

Still haven't brought anything this year apart from a bra which doesn't count. I am saving my money incase I need an outfit for my dads 70th(all depends on how much i weigh if I need one or not;)) Don't miss clothes shopping anyway, I think I joined this challenge as I thought it may actually be one that I could stick to:D

wow, there has been some spending since I last updated & sorry for the delay, I've been at the allotment & in my garden which fortunately are both occupations that only require scruffy jeans, t shirts & trainers .

Happy New Clothes :jto Intergalactic Floozie, prudence41 - hon, dont forget that coats dont count - unless you want them to , Keys, Sparklygemster, Completely Lost & Fedupandskint wow:D, to bargainous items off ebay

Completely Lost - I so want to rummage through your cardigan collection - I love them & have a feeling that when I open my summer trunk of clothes I am going to find at least 2 in there that will be too tight on the sleeves - hate that stuffed sausage look :o:rolleyes:

Right , must get off to update the totals & then back into those scruggy jeans & the garden :D

  • Hello lovelies. still being good!
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x
  • Hi all,

Joined 3 months ago and have lurked since then! I've been pretty bad in that I saw and absolutely fell in LOVE with a Maxmara dress about a week into the challenge!

It cost £108 (yep, the budget for the year) but it was reduced from £260, is pure silk, can be worn as a dress alone or a tunic over trousers and I have to say I adore the pattern (it's quite striking) and have had loads of compliments every time I've worn it - and I've worn it tons, compared to some of the £25 tops from DP or wherever that I've worn once and put into the charity shop.

So please forigve me! The budget is well and truly blown, but I'm sure I'll spend loads more this year. Ok to be a watcher and cheer everyone else on from the sidelines??

    xx
