Hi and well done to everyone so far!
Feel quite chuffed with myself even though it's still early on! I was in Tesco the other night and passed by the clothing where they had jumpers £8 each or two for £12. They were just perfect for work and normally would have been in my basket in a flash! However, I looked through the different colours - picked out a red one and a pink one, then reminded myself about the £100 challenge and they never even hit my basket so well chuffed! Thank you Lula, I tell you if it wasn't for you and your crazy challenge they would have been in my wardrobe by now! LOL! :T Putting my first £2 in my "crazy £100 clothes challenge" pot today and well excited about it! LOL. Good luck everyone. Have a great weekend away from the clothes shops!!

PS dobs - £1.25 per pair of slippers - that's a bargain - maybe you could Ebay a few pairs and make a wee profit?

Just wanted to wish you all luck. I'm a total clothes feind and there's no way that I have the disapline to do it. I admire you all!
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!
  • ooh dear, a little primark spend - do pyjamas count?
If not then its only £1.47.....
    :money:
  • Ooooooooooh this sounds fun! Got to say (ashamedly) a large proportion of my debt was probably clothes related! I'm a total idiot when it comes to clothes but I'm much better now than in the past and now buy a lot of Ebay. Definitely up for this please sign me up if I'm not too late :)

£100 for me and £50 for DD xxx

I don't know what your budget is, but Next clothes are good and there's at least 50% off at the mo. I don't wear suits now, but when I used to I always thought it best to pay a bit more for a good quality suit that'll last (waistline permitting!) than buy a dead cheap polyester one.

Mind you, I only shop at M&S now, because I HATE shopping so would rather keep it to one shop where I know everything fits. There are suits on there for £50 (not in the sale though).

    Hope this helps.

Just to say that while I generally agree with the above, I have bought a couple of nice suits in Primark which are good enough quality for occassional use and have always gained lots of compliments. I doubt they'd wear well enough for very frequent wear, but for an odd meeting or seminar they are fine and sooo cheap!

Good luck to everyone on here- I'd love to joing you BUT (wait for this list of excuses:o ) I have a wedding in April, another in June plus I am hoping to be pregnant sometime very soon so will hopefully be needing some maternity goodies. Aside from these expenses though this thread has definitely got me thinking. This year I am mostly trying to be money neutral in my clothes buying- ie. selling an item for every new item I buy, or using earned vouchers to buy my clothes.

Our local TK Maxx was moving, and they'd reduced everything by 70%, then did another 50% off those prices in the last couple of days. I picked up the most fab designer suit in there - lined, fitted fantastically, by some name I've never heard of, but which impressed my label-wise friends enormously. It's great for work, and I always get compliments when I wear it!

    I paid....... £11.

That's what you call a deal on a suit!
