Still on my road to being a millionaire

  • Hi. Another day of pouring rain and cr*p weather in Scotland. My 2 weeks holiday are almost over and not a single day has the sun been shining:(. I had lots of plans and have achieved zero :rotfl:BUT I am rested for the first time in months. I have had time to catch up on computer type things. I have managed to do sme cooking so all in all I have thoroughly enjoyed my couple of weeks.

Went to ASDA today and got weekly shop. £37.90 so I am pretty pleased with that.

Came home and had taken 2 turkey steaks from freezer for dd and ds's dinner. DS decided that his friend was staying for dinner so I cut the steaks into 3 which gave then 2 good sized pieces each. I covered them in breadcrumbs and fried them and they absolutely loved them. Made mash and sweetcorn and I had some lamb. Was yummy. DS's pal said I should be on masterchef , bless :rotfl:. I am a decent enough cook but nowhere near that league. Bought £20 petrol today so hopefully that'll see me through for a few days although I am taking mum to a wedding on Saturday so that'll use a good bit of that up :(.

I am being fed my dinner for the next 3 days :j. I've done a menu plan for next week:
    Today: Turkey, Lamb, Mash
    Fri: Out to local carvery
Sat: Wedding (kids will eat super noodles or something)
Sun: Mum's ( my bro will cook )
    Mon: Shepherds pie
    Tues: Stuffed Chicken, Rice, Veg
    Wed: Sausage casserole, Mash
Thurs: Pork Chops and either rice or I'll make it a stir fry with noodles.

I have bought some biccies and will do some baking tomorrow to keep us going all week.

I have £42 left ( so long as maintenance goes in) So I will hopefully have some money left to pay off of argos, Fingers crossed, even a tenner will make me happy. Radiator got fixed today so all is well again. :D

    Away for a browse xx

  • Thanks KP I just don't enjoy processed grub so need to make the effort myself. Went to the local carvery tonight. Was okay but I am a real potato lover and theirs were minging. I am sitting here with a right craving for some mash.

I have a wedding tomorrow and cant be bothered to be honest. I am only going because I have to take my mum as she needs looked after. She bought my outfit but I am going to have to drive for about 3 hours all in and it's just a pain in the butt. I get a free dinner out of it mind you :).

Need to make a choc fudge cake for Sunday as big family dinner at my mum's and she was going to buy a frozen choc cake but they are disgusting so I will bake :D. I treated myself today to a storage jar @ £1.99 in Morrisons. I desperately need jars to store my baking ingredients as they go all over my cupboard and annoy me so I have decided that I will buy one a week until I have everything stored nice and neatly.

I have discovered that the smell in my DS's bedroom is pee. He woke up one night peeing on the carpet in his sleep and was scared to tell me. Have used soda crystals tonight to see if that helps.

I spent £15 today on a variety of stuff. Did need it all though. So I have a couple pounds in my purse for wedding, wont be drinking so don't need much cash. I also have £20 in bank so if I don't need to buy more petrol after the mammoth journey tomorrow then I can use that for Argos and I will be well pleased with that. Fingers crossed I can hold onto it.

  • Am up and awake. DD dropped off at work and I am just about to iron my outfit for today. Need to be at my mother's to dress her etc by 11.30 so better get my skates on. Ihad the worst sleep ever last night and I have a decidedly dodgy tummy this morning. Here's hoping it settles as I have a busy day and at the mo I feel like barfing. Eew . HAve a good day all xx

  • Hi. What a fabulous day yesterday. Really nice wedding. Only problem was that the wine was flowing big time and I couldn't drink anything other than a glass of champagne with my dinner as I was driving . Food was fab and at night there were 3 chocolate fountains. I nearly did a Dawn French and dived in :rotfl:. Was home by 10.30 as my mum was exhausted but had a wonderful day. She is raving about it. The wedding was my dad's side of the family and because he died young we hardly ever see them so it was fantastic to catch up with all my aunties and cousins.

The best bit was that other than petrol I didn't spend a penny :D. I have £24.50 so I am going to pay £20 from Argos right now and that will leave me with £68.52 to pay. I am really pleased.

Big family dinner at my mum's today. My brother will be cooking so I can sit back and relax. I have already made a chocolate fudge cake for pudding so dinner will be grand. I have a shepherds pie to take in for tomorrow night's dinner as well. Nice and organised as I am back at work tomorrow :( and I could cry at the thought of it tbh.
Am away to pay this money and have a shower. xx
