  • hi
went to pay £75 from ARGOS today but had the money in 2 separate accounts and did a faster payment from one account to another and looks like it has gone through the 3 day transfer process rather than the faster payment process so I will have to wait a couple of days to do it . I really wanted to do it today ( stamps feet). I am having a right lazy day. We are in the middle of a thunder storm and the rain is chucking it down. I have to go into my mum's later to make her dinner but other than that I intend to do nothing. I have tidied up and done 2 loads of wash but no more other than feeding us :D. I love getting time to just 'be' rather than having to rush about mad. :DWould have been a no spend day but unfortunately had to buy antihistamines as I had run out and couldn't wait on DD getting her prescription ( I use them too so we get them free ) as I had taken a major reaction to something and my skin was so itchy it was driving me crazy. ALright now but DD not such a frugal person as me and paid £3.50 for 2 packs of tablets . Am away to watch come dine with me and then get dressed and go see my wee mum :D xx

  • You're right KP sometimes I get to desperate stages and today was one of them.

Earlier today I had a complete flaky about the state of my son's room. It stinks and I really mean stinks. It smells as if someone has peed in it. He has sorted his room out but it still smells horrendously bad. I have washed the sheets, the sleeping bags from his sleepover etc but I reckon its his carpet. I am going to make him steam clean it tomorrow as otherwise if we cannot get rid of the smell then I need to throw the carpet out as the smell is horrific. TBH the carpet is absolutely done anyway and I reckon he would be better with flooring but I Just don't have any money to pay for it just now so that is not an option. He is so careless with his stuff it drives me nuts and no doubt tomorrow I will find a wet towel shoved in somewhere. If I do then the punishment will be massive .

Watching big bro now as I Love intellectual programming :rotfl:

  • Good morning. Well the sun is shining in Scotland for the first time in days. I have loads of washing out but am going to keep going until I run out of space as I have loads of it piled up. Been raining so it can't go outside but also no heating on in the house so not drying inside either and I don't have a dryer ( as I am too tight to pay for one).
Got my car tax docs in from DVLA so will try and get that next week sometime. I will only be able to do 6 months but never mind. One day I will have a fund for these type of things instead of doing it this way.
Child benefit is in today. Going to try not to touch it though as I need it for the weekend. If I can leave all my money this week then I might be able to tax the car at the weekend. It is a big might though as it would be hard going. We'll see. If not then I can hopefully pay a few pounds off of Argos instead and I will just tax the car when I get paid at end of month.
Hope everyone has a nice day xx

  • NSD :j. Am well disciplined person :rotfl:

Went out to collect DD from work and didn't take purse. DD wanted rolls instead of bread for lunch so she bought them as I refused to as bread should suffice. ( I did eat one of the rolls mind you) I took out mince for dinner but have no tinned tomatoes so couldn't make the spag bol I intended making so I have cooked it for a shepherds pie for tomorrow as no-one fancied that for dinner. I have baked potatoes in the oven at the minute and have made lots and lots of tuna pasta. I am just about to put on some savoury rice so we can have a bit of a taste sensation for dinner. SOunds good :rotfl:probably be cr*p :rotfl:.I have cheese and butter to fill the jackets. All from the cupboards so all good.

All washing nice and dry so am well pleased. Still quite a lot to do but looking at the weather I have no chance of getting it out. Might as well just get it done and stick it on the clothes horses.Very annoying though.

DS found the smelly patch of carpet and he has scrubbed it with DAZ as my friend said the biological powder would break down the smell. I made him do it himself but am going to go up and ensure it is done right and I will keep doing it if required over the next few days. Am away to finish off the dinner and sort the washing out and get it done. Be back later xx

  • :j:jI am a happy bunny this morning. I paid off £99.11 to Argos so the £40 standing order coming off at beginning of AUgust will clear the plan I have with them and no interest will need to be paid :D. I still have £88.52 to pay to the normal credit but I am going to set myself a target to pay that off by end of July and get rid of it. Not sure if I mentioned before but years ago I promised DD money if she did well in her standard grades and lo and behold her results are due in in August. There is no way I am going to rescind on this bargain as she has worked really hard to do well. I told her I would give her £50 per credit 1 result and £25 for a credit 2 so potentially it could cost me £400:eek:.She has said to me not to bother but I know she would be desperately disappointed if I did that and it's not her fault I am skint. WE have come to an arrangment though in that I will buy her a new hutch for her rabbit from Argos ( and it will be interest free credit :D) and I can give her any other money in installments. So card will be paid off and used again immediately lol but at least I will be more organised this time and know what I Owe and when it needs paying etc etc.

Taking my mum out to meet her friends today. SHe normally can't go due to her mobility issues but since I am on holiday I will drop her off for lunch and pick her up later.

I have tuna and pasta left over from yesterday so that will do lunch here and I have shepherds pie ready for dinner. DD doesn't eat meat though and she is having a friend over to stay tonight so she wants macaroni cheese. I might just freeze the shepherds pie for another night and make us all macaroni cheese and get some garlic bread for it. Better go get showered before I offend anyone's sense of smell :rotfl:and go pick up my mother. Have a good day everyone xx

  • Right that's mum dropped off at the restaurant so I have an hour or so to do some tidying up and continue in my quest to get rid of the disgusting smell from my son's room. It is permeating the whole house now .
Popped into ASDA whilst at mum's and spent a tenner on a few things. Needed bread, milk, cheese, garlic bread, marge ( to bake) and thornton's caramel shortcake. ANd yes I did NEED that too:rotfl:.
Going to bake a bakewell traybake this afternoon. It is absolutely delicious and lasts a few days as you get about 15 slices from it. That'll keep DD and her friends happy for a while I hope as I am not buying in anything special for them.
My section in work won £25 as we had Holland in the sweep and in my absence they have decided to buy £25 of lotto tickets lol. Imagine we won that would be a hoot. Whole section leaving en masse me leading the way.

Away to clean and cook. Later xx

  • Heres hoping the lotto comes good. Dread to think what your son has hidden in his room  ! I know its alot but I now you hope you have to pay as much of the potential 400 as possisble so fingers crossed for your DD has done well.

Enjoy the macaroni cheese. Only three of us to feed tonight and Ive just got in so Im going to McDs in a bit. At least I can claim £10 back in expenses :).

  • Quite right KP. I'm not fussed on Macd's. I'll eat it if I am there and since they started the chicken roll things they are definitely better, but would much rather have a chinese :slurp:

Didn't have enough macaroni so ended up with cheesy pasta bake and garlic bread. Was delish. I made chocolate muffins too so they went down well with the young ones( I didn't taste them of course ;)) DD's pal was raving about them lol and they didn't even have choc chips in them.

British gas coming tomorrow so hopefully my broken radiator will be fixed :D.Will really need to clear out under my stairs and rear hall so that the poor guy can get into my boiler.

I have also found out that the weekend I am going to Benidorm in November is the fiesta weekend and apparently it is awesome. A weekend of sheer madness so bang goes our nice quiet time. Not that any of us are bothered we are all well excited to go to this. I can't wait. Just need to save up for it now :rotfl:
