Still on my road to being a millionaire

Hi folks. BUsy day today. Had tea and a chat with a friend this morning. Collected DD from work and went to ASDA for the weekly shop. Spent £48.68 on that so was pretty pleased with myself. Had to replenish my baking stock so that was well done sticking to that.Need to get a christening card and I will stick a tenner in that for Sunday. Otherwise hopefully no more spends and I can use the other money for a wee day out next week
. No doubt something will happen and put the kaibosh on that one lol. Not sure what ds is going to wear yet tbh. Will need to check what fits him. May end up having to buy him something .
Mum is way better today. She has been in for over a week now and on antibiotics for that time so thank god everything seems to be coming together and working for her.
I made apag bol from scratch today. Funnily enough even though I cook all the time I was still using jar sauces for spag bol. Ine was better to be honest and much cheaper and healthier so will continue with that. I may make up a huge batch of the sauce next week and freeze it into portions for future use as it is a wee bitty time consuming getting it ready.
No other news or spends. Hope you are all well. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Just having a catch up. Glad to hear your mum is on the mend, sorry to hear about your friends mums funeral, it must be really hard for her.
I am dusting down my spending diary too, have to tighten our belts for a bit so will be interesting to see how bad my spending is! xxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hi penguin. I'm finding the diary useful already. It's making me think again about my spends as I have to 'confess' in my diary. Psychological I know but it works.
I had a lovely day yesterday. Got my mum out of hospital to go to a family christening. That was really good. She is still pretty frail but doing really well. Will be home this week sometime I imagine. The sun is splitting the skies here. It is gorgeous. I am on hols all week too. The green is full of washing getting dried for the first time this year. Hard to believe that it was -7 here 2 weeks ago and was 21c in my car yesterday. Must be about that again today.Need to take dd to work . Be back later x5 Year plan. ok back. DD away to work and DS away out with friends. Bliss
. Except for neighbours effing yap of a dog barking outside. I swear if I have to listen to that all summer again I will shoot the damn thing .
Anyway. I went out last night with some friends for a quiet drink :rotfl:. Ended up getting plastered and singing and dancing in the local pub. Was fab and all very spontaneous. Got in with a crowd of lads who kept buying us shots. I didn't have to drink them mind you lol but unfortunately for my head ....... I did. Spent £25 so that was naughty but on the whole a cheap night out. Gave ds £2 today as he wanted an ice lolly when he was out but other than that hopefully no other spends.

Spontaneous nights like that are great well worth the outlay
So good to hear your Mum still making progress:j0 -
Hi KP yes they are great but OMG I just cannot handle the hangovers these days:rotfl:. I used to do that Thursday, Fri, Sat and SUn nights and thought nothing of it:eek:. In saying that I probably didn't drink as much in one night as I did on SUnday:o.
A nsd today so that is fab. First one in months I reckon. Made chicken goujons for dinner with batter. Absolutely delicious. Made sweet potato wedges along with them but none of us were keen on them. I have been trying lots of different foods recently trying to find some things that the kids will like. Will do the chicken in breadcrumbs next time and see how they go down. DD is gradually eating red meat again ( thank god) as it was driving me crazy how fussy she was being.I'm trying really hard not to spend as I need to keep money for DD's birthday gifts although she is being such a pain just now that she doesn't deserve anything
My mum is getting out of hospital tomorrow so I am really happy about that. STill not 100% but fit enough to come home.:D

I am not in good form tonight. I've cried nearly all day. My mum has caught another infection and is really sick. Since last night she has gone really downhill. THey thought she had a clot on her lung today but thankfully x-ray showed up that that's not the case. SHe is struggling and I am distraught and scared. They have given her really strong antibiotics so I can only pray that they will do the trick for her. SHe has been in hospital for 2 whole weeks now and was well excited about getting out and now this.
Spending wise I have done my usual and spent money cos I am upset. Bought expensive sausages and bakery goods. Have spent over £20 today on cr*p basically. Never mind I don't really care tbh.
Hope everyone else is okay xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

hi. Took kids swimming today as it has been a nightmare week and the poor souls have had no fun on these hols. Cost me £5.40 and £13.50 for mcDonalds afterwards. Money well spent as it took us all away from sickness for a while. Mum still really poorly today. She is so exhausted fighting this. The only up was I forgot to take her some knickers lol and she noticed. had to go get some. THankfully the hospital is only 5 mins from my home.5 Year plan.
