DWP employment waiting list

Just thought I'd drop in to say congrats to all those who have their start dates and those who are waiting keep the faith.
I started back in October, but had two weeks off due to swine flu. Started training outside my branch last week and thoroughly enjoying it. I want a job in fraud (If you've been through it you'll know why). Just been told yesterday I am going to be a financial assessor.
Money isn't the greatest but pension, benefits, great bunch of workmates and variation in the job makes up for it. Just enjoying myself and so glad to be back to work.
I'm on flexi, but don't muck around with it too much. If your hours are 8:30 till 5, try to stick to it.
Keep smiling......it'll happen.0 -

I did read it mate and I was worried! That was one of the reasons why I emailed them today to try and find out more. Middleton would be to far for me to travel to say the least! Just weird how I got the call an hour later but maybe today was they day they were planning on calling everyone for our IRC anyway0 -

I start on the 23rd and have a quick question for anyone working in a job centre. Are you working on flexi time or do you have to work shifts like 9-5?
If it is flexi time, how flexible is it? What are the core hours? If you say you will be in at 9:30 how much earlier or later can you start (like can you be 10 mins late and arrive at 9:40)?
Thanks.
You are on flexi time, but will most likely be in the office from 8.30 - 5 most days anyway. If you're doing the most common roles (front-line customer facing) then you will have a diary of interviews/appointments every day, and you can base your day around this. For instance, my last interview today was at 15.40, so i took advantage and left at 4. Most days though, I'm booked up until gone four, with paperwork and loose ends to tie up after this.0 -

Exhausted after my first day (been awake since 5am in anticipation lol!). Really nice office with lovely people who couldn't do enough to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. Already had my invitation to the xmas staff "do" (all paid for by B & Q), my new desk, computer, yukky polo shirts and fleece were delivered first thing. Don't think I will be featuring in any of their adverts after seeing myself in the mirror wearing my new reading glasses - never knew I had THAT many wrinkles  Luckily, because we are non-customer facing, we dont have to wear the hideous regulation combats.......I am a larger lady and they are anything but flattering! For all you still waiting and applying for non-dwp positions, I was told that people with degrees are considered over-qualified as they want people who will STAY. Also, they are keen on the more mature employee (just as well!) as they are less likely to be off with hangovers on a monday and more likely to treat customers with respect.
Was really pleased to read that several folk have had "the call" - good luck to you all! Even more good luck to all who are still waiting for a job - your time WILL come.
Heather x

Hi guys, hope you're all doing well, I just wanted to say a few of you have sent me a PM, I'm not ignoring you but I've got shingles

Fantastic news to see more of you have had "the call" (it sounds like a !!!!! thing doesn't it?), especially unluckyone and unluckierstill!
