I just got the call.
Start 30th November.
I was originally for IRC61866 but it was for a post with a BDC (which we know are no longer recruiting) so I was placed on a list and just received the call today.
My preferred location.
It's my birthday today so it's just made my day.[/QUOTE/
YAY! SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Best of luck for the 30th - u deserve it! :j0 -

THATS GREAT NEWS! Thrilled for you! Things are really starting to move now, eh? All the best for the future :j0 -
What is going on???? I have just looked on the directgov website and they are advertising for staff in Blackburn, Accrington , Darwen, etc. I am awaiting posting for AO and EO in these places (as well as others). It is not yet on the DWP website. I do not understand why they are advertisng when so many people are awaiting postings.
That is what happened in my area, so I phoned my local job centre manager to find out if it was worth me re-applying, she looked into it for me, and said we would be placed before any people going into the new recruitment.
Then one week later I got the call, so hang on in there.0 -
I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to all the people that have sent their congratulations and best wishes.
Also thank you to all the people that have given great help, support and information over the last few months.
Good luck to you all, you are all stars. :T :T :T :T0 -
Hi all!
Exhausted after my first day (been awake since 5am in anticipation lol!). Really nice office with lovely people who couldn't do enough to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. Already had my invitation to the xmas staff "do" (all paid for by B & Q), my new desk, computer, yukky polo shirts and fleece were delivered first thing. Don't think I will be featuring in any of their adverts after seeing myself in the mirror wearing my new reading glasses - never knew I had THAT many wrinkles  Luckily, because we are non-customer facing, we dont have to wear the hideous regulation combats.......I am a larger lady and they are anything but flattering! For all you still waiting and applying for non-dwp positions, I was told that people with degrees are considered over-qualified as they want people who will STAY. Also, they are keen on the more mature employee (just as well!) as they are less likely to be off with hangovers on a monday and more likely to treat customers with respect.
Was really pleased to read that several folk have had "the call" - good luck to you all! Even more good luck to all who are still waiting for a job - your time WILL come.

I start on the 23rd and have a quick question for anyone working in a job centre. Are you working on flexi time or do you have to work shifts like 9-5?
If it is flexi time, how flexible is it? What are the core hours? If you say you will be in at 9:30 how much earlier or later can you start (like can you be 10 mins late and arrive at 9:40)?
Thanks.0 -

Hey Margie, welcome to the forum.
Hey Spangles, hope your well, thought i would update you on what i have been told, as you know Spangles i emailed the dwp with regard to all this and have enclosed the latest reply i have had.
Dear Ms Wright
RE:IRC 61505/64225
Thank you for your email.
I have contacted the Regional Recruitment Co-Coordinator for the East of England for Jobcentre Plus with regards to your query.
The advice we have been given is that at present, the Posting Officers in Essex are in the process of contacting successful candidates to offer positions. However, they are required to follow a strict process whereby they must offer positions to those candidates who scored highest at interview, working down the list in merit order, whilst taking location preferences into account.
The selection exercise IRC61505 has an expiry date of 01/03/2010 so posting officers could potentially be contacting successful candidates up until this date.
Jobcentre Plus are anticipating more vacancies early next year going forward therefore they have advertised for these positions. Vacancies are being advertised now to ensure candidates are available when the posts open.
I hope this email has gone some way to addressing your concerns however should you have any further enquires please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards
Stephanie Marshall

Hey there,
Oh I know Sammy was helping me, I was just kidding that's all. We're all in the same boat, those of us who are waiting, anyway!
On that note - do you know whom to contact with regard to JCP IRC vacancies? Mine is IRC 60811 and I'm desperate to start asap! I don't care if it's Whitchurch (in fact, I'd qute like it there if anyone is reading this, hint hint)!
:rotfl:
:A
I got an email from the district office re locations, you need to find out which is the district office for Whitchurch?? once the IRC has gone to them.
If it is still be dealt with at Newcastle then postings haven't started yet! I think? maybe Sammyjammy can confirm this0 -
