its probably unlikely, pretty much 95% of B/C jobs in a Jobcentre will be customer facing.
A District manager and their team are responsible for a group of Jobcentres geographically based, within these Districts there may be a Contact Centre or BDC or both, these are managed seperately by Head Office teams on a regional basis.
There are HO teams like my own who will work in either Finance or HR and support either Customer Service Directorate (Jobcentres/districts) or Benefit and Fraud Directorate (BDCs and Fraud teams) or Contact Centre Directorate (Contact Centres), the rest of Head Office will be policy teams, projects teams etc etc, these are mostly basedi nLeeds, Sheffield and London."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Has your Income based JSA been actioned or have you completed the JSA3 form? If you have & they award you with JSA (IB) then yes you can get Housing Benefit from the day your JSA (IB) is actioned. For Housing Benefit Run On & Job Grant you should be claiming (and in payment) for at least 26 weeks till you sign off (calculation for 26 weeks will start from the first date of your payment so your 3 waiting days wont be taken into this). Best of luck....viaggiopics wrote: »Back to work question.
I am going back to work on Wednesday (EO). From what I understand, I will be losing all my benefits, but I have been looking online and from what I have gathered I wont lose them immediately.
My question is this.
I was on contribution based JSA, which ran out 3 weeks ago (I was on it for the full 6 months) and I was then placed on income based JSA. From the information I have read, I gather that if you are on income based JSA, you will continue to get housing benefits paid for an additional 4 weeks. Does this apply to contribution based jsa?
I will ask tomorrow at the JCP but I am curious today.0 -

Just read through the weekend posts. How horrid, ignorant and sneaky of the gruesome twosome to send you private mails, whilst pretending on here to be nice helpful folk like the rest of us. You have given support and advice to many (myself included) and you are right - its how it should be. You go for whatever position you want and don't let the selfish and jealous opinions of a tiny minority put you off.0 -

Thank to Shania311 and SammyJammy for your response.
After my Contribution based JSA ran out on 23/10, I had to apply for the Income Based JSA, I had to fill in the form (not sure of the form number). This was done on 26/10/2009. I have so far received one IB JSA which was last week Wednesday.
I have been receiving housing and council tax benefits for a few months, although I was on contribution based JSA.
Yet, everything I have read about going to work only speaks of continuing benefits if I was on Income based JSA for the previous six month to returning to work, there is nothing about contribution based JSA.
I will definitely ask tomorrow and post back.
Due to the almost immediate start date, I will be beyond broke and will need to borrow some money from friends, as my travel each day is £4.80 and that is using a new deal card with the 50% discount accounted for.
Ah well, I guess I cannot have it all, it is a start and I will just have to keep looking for a job closer to home.0 -

Why don't you wait and see how the land lies. Have you met your Line Manager yet? If not when you do you could ask then how it works if someone needs to leave earlier than 5pm when Jobcentre shuts, it may be that not everyone does stay until that time (they probably don't have people signing until that time, in fact in my day there was no signing on a Friday but not sure if thats still the case) they probably have a mix of those that start early and those who stay late.
If everyone does normal stay until 5pm on a Friday in your office then I would personally catch a later train, you wouldn't want to get peoples backs up in your first week.
Good luck by the way!!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Viag if your doing training in a different office than what your home office will be they will pay your expenses and give you £4.75 subsistence for having to buy lunch.
Hope you manage ok.

Hey! Not sure if this is the same in every office but its a flexi-time kind of working. Ive finished at a variety of times between 4.30-5. And even been starting early (usually 8.30). After my first day i was told as long as i worked 7.24 hours a day i could choose my hours (this will change when i have customers i guess). I dont see it being a problem x0
