Also in the last 24 hours i have had 2 private mails telling me i should be grateful for the job i was given rather than use this forum to ask advice on wether to apply for the higher up job or not (i wont name names cos im not into that sort of public attack) but in reply to that, i have used this forum for many months and have been there right beside you, waiting for the call. I had my interview in May and only started my position on Monday so i think its fair to say, yes i am one of the lucky ones, but it took a while to get there, and if i feel like the people on here could help with advice then i have no problems about asking for it, cos we have all been through a lot together! And maybe, rather than attacking people in private mail, it would be better to voice your thoughts in public, so everyone could see what some people are REALLY like on here!
Hi Mandie
I totally agree, Mandie you were one of the first people who replied to me on this forum when I first joined, and your advice was a great help, so whoever has pm'd you "SOD UM" your entitled to ask whatever you wish, we who are aware of your journey will give you the support & advice you have kindly given to others, so Heather go for the EO position and I for one hope you succeed! I believe that a high % of the vacancies are sought after by internal staff so what's the difference, don't know about the wastage thing, but I'm sure sammy will give you more insight!!
So glad your enjoying your long sought after position!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! :D

Sammyjammy,

Happy to know that people like you are on this forum.

Please what is the pospect of us "Waiters" getting a job eventually. And i have tried severally getting my number on the waiting list but to no avail. Any help on this will be appreciated.

The IRC is 62486, Caerphilly.

Thanks:(:(:(.

Hi karrytomuch

Have you tried emailing? the address is RESOURCING.CUSTOMERSERVICES@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK
Good Luck :D
• Mandie, I'd do the same if the opportunity came up, why not? Then if you're promoted, another Band B job will become available for someone else!

Go for it! :)

I agree totally. They should have doen the head count BEFORE the recruitment drive, not afterwards, and shortlisted the applicants accordingly. Instead they done a mass recruit, got way more people than necessary and then decided they better check how many jobs they had. Its a shame though cos so many people got there hopes up and now there are bound to be hundreds on waiting lists that wont get a post within the 12 months (im pretty sure this forum only holds about a very small percent of those people lol). The people on the merit lists tho, im pretty sure they will get posted. I might be wrong tho, you never know with DWP.

I dont however think it could ever be a case of "ok you passed the interview, you have the job, when can u start". Because so many people want these jobs and the scorign system is the same for everyone, how would they choose who to employ? I think the merit list system is a good one, if done properly!

Hi Mandie

just ignore the people who have sent you the pm's. If you feel that you want to go for the promotion and are able then go for it. As you are now in a position you will also have access to the internal vacancies and should have more scope. Also as you say the process seems to take that long that the sooner you start the better. All the best for your promotion looking.

sweetikklemunchkin, I had to return a form which required me to tell them if I accepted the position or not a few days after I got a call from someone asking if I was still interested. Does your letter detail your salary, your office etc?

As for the AO part, JCP has many people in different bands who do a wide variety of things. One EO maybe a financial assessor while another is a Personal Advisor so there are a variety of roles within each band I reckon.
• Natomar,

Thanks for the address. I will send an email there now. :A
