Hi. Mine is for IRC 62053 which is the EO vacancies West Yorkshire.Success letter dated 4th September.

That's cool. May not be of any use to you but just FYI I got a letter today from the Jobcentre at which I think I'm supposed to be posted eventually (or perhaps never, who knows)

It's from the Leeds jobcentre and it basically says if I'm still interested in the post I should let them know by 30th October.. Doesn't really say what the effect of this is but it starts with "I hope to be in a position to offer posts in the near future" yet it ends with "I look forward to offering you the opportunity to join us in the near future". First part seems kinda iffy but the ending sounds a bit more concrete so doesn't really clear anything up. Either way I'm 83rd on the list so can't really expect much I guess.

What position is it and where was your tests/interview?

    Hi

Executive Officer and held at the Ramada Hotel in Sutton

Received a letter today to advise I am on the waiting list so I called them and I am number 21 but they wouldn't say out of how many

Anyone else on the waiting list for 62504??

Ref IRC 62504 Executive Officer - Birmingham

My N&L test was 14/09/09 and Competency interview was 16/09/09. If I remember correctly when I attended the N&L test on 14/09/09 there was 450+ applicants for the test, this is what I was told by the manpower staff. The interviews to take place on Wed, Thur, Fri 16-18/09/09.

I received my DWP successful letter today. The letter says I am currently on a waiting list for 12 months and there is no Guarantee of a position.

I rang the number on my DWP success letter and spoke to a real nice gentlemen in Employee Services Resourcing at Newcastle upon Tyne who told me after I enquired that I was 67th on the merit list out of 91 for IRC 62504.

He couldn't tell me much more. However, after some cajoling, he did say that the speed I would move up the list would depend on the turnover of staff for that particular area which he had no knowledge of so could not advise any further.

Based on this I contacted the Erdington JC+ and a lady told me that they had filled most of their available places for EO's and were close to full capacity, albeit she couldn't speak for other JC+ offices in the Birmingham area.

I could not find out how many EO jobs were available. However, I was given the impression that the people recruited during the summer have only just been placed at JC+ recently.

Not sure if this merit list of 91 people has some people from the summer months recruitment drive included plus recruits from September, or if this is just the September recruits?? If anyone knows an answer to this, please let me know.

If anyone else has received a response from the DWP to this recruitment exercise for IRC 62504 Birmingham, please post your response and position on the merit list if applicable. I would be very interested to hear from anyone else and their views to the response received from the DWP.

Thanks - fingers xd to all applicants

Hi, got my success letter today the same as you. I called them and I am 21st on the list but he wouldn't say out of how many.

Really hoping to get somewhere soon

    Good luck!!

They didn't ask me if I was still interested, just to let them know if I wasn't :D MUST BE PATIENT,MUST BE PATIENT:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Yes, did the test/interview at the Rugby club as well. Haven't had any calls about a medical although I did fill the form at the time. I called the JC in town and they said that it would be around the end of the month/early November at the earliest. Fingers crossed that it does turn out to be so. But am looking for temp work as well.

I do think that it is one of the worst recruitment scenarios I ever witnessed. I was in Recuitment and HR for ages and even on a slow campaign there was always someone you could contact.

Well at least you were told something! I haven't rung anyone yet, as I'm in no rush, but I just hope I can work part time, any ideas on that question?

Anybody waiting for a job at a BDC might want to take a look at another thread entitled "whats the big announcement tomorrow * job centre employees only*". I couldn't post the link direct as I do not have enough posts on here. Looks like the changes are going to start on Monday. Could have been part of the reason for the freeze whilst they sorted this out.
