Thanks for all the kind words, hope you all get the call soon!!!mandie2106 wrote: »Hey. Congrats on getting the call, thats fab news! As far as hours go, when i got the call last week i was told that altho in the advert it stated possible 8-8 mon-fri and 8-1 saturday, all offices are currently only operating mon-fri 9-5, however there is the possibility that this might change and we would be required to perhaps change our hours at that point. For now tho, ur rugby should be fine lol.
As for changing from AO to EO, im not sure how that works. I was always under the impression that you would still have to wait on the list for a call for a position at the higher level, cos really, the call u got today wasnt for an EO job so im not sure they would change ur grading just like that. Maybe that office dont need EOs just now etc etc, im not sure x
Thanks for that, fingers crossed that i get the 9-5!!
I just hope that i can actually move grades when if i get the job and its my turn on the list. At least the 3 month wait won't be soo bad as i will be working!0 -

From what someone said in a previous post about a week back or so, you can change grades if you applied for both AO and EO. Thus, when its your turn for the EO position you should get it with no probs and then someone else comes in for your previous position. Hope this helps.0 -

Yeah i think thats wht would happen. Sorry JackDaniels think i misunderstood what u meant. I thought u emant if u passed ur interview they might change the job u got the call for, from AO to EO, which i didnt think they could do, but yeah if u pass and u get th call for the EO then u should be able to change no probs at that point x0 -

I applied for IRC 61298 AO Role
25th July: Lit/Num tests
11th Aug: Interview
28th Aug: Success Letter (no mention of waiting list)
5th Sept: CRB received through post (dwp complimentary slip included)
13th Oct: The Call! Start date Oct 26th, 18 month Fixed Term
I actually had my interview for the IRC 62668 EO role today (Maybe this is linked!!) I asked in my interview and the lady that confirmed my start date that if I do get this EO role i will be able to move to the higher band C. Is this true? Should i get a confirmation email?
Also she said that i would have to discuss my hours on the first day of work, is it wrong to ask not to work on Saturdays as i play rugby? Can i just ask for 9-5?
Thanks again!!
Its not wrong to ask but your contract will likely state that they can request you to work Saturdays (if they need you to - not all Jobcentres are doing Saturday opening)in which case you'll need to decide between Rugby and a job."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Just be careful if you do get offered the EO job as it may be a shorter contract in which case you'll need to make a decision as to whether more pay and less time in the job is better for you or not. Hi all,
Is there anyone here awaiting Job centre AO/EO positions in Dorset? Any news on the freeze in this area? I applied late June-had my crb returned in August and now nothing. It is very difficult working 8-5 to reach Newcastle by phone...have written twice and no responce:(
Has the "freeze" been lifted? As i am noticing lots of people being posted?
Does anyone have a contact email address?
Any info will be such a help.
Thanks

I was wondering...are pensions really worth paying? 3.5% of my salary will go to place called nuvos. Someone told me I can't claim any of that back until I become a pensioner which seems a bit wrong. Surely it'll be better to stash away 3.5% in your own savings account? Correct me if I'm wrong.0

Hey there,
I work in a JCP at the moment, Nuvos is one half of the pension scheme and you CAN claim it back, you just need to change your pension type to "partnership" and select 0% contributions (I have;))0 -

I was wondering exactly the same thing!
I phoned Newcastle up on Monday and they said that, as I only had my success & waiting list letter last week (7th October - EO position - IRC 60811 Herefordshire, Shropshire & Worcestershire), there wasn't enough time for them to have got my papers back.
I guess they're waiting for CRB forms to be returned.
Is the recruitment freeze still on?0
