  • I've been at a JC+ training session today and we were told that JC+ are intending to recruit up until December and they are still looking to take on another 1000 new employees although these could be on even shorter contracts than 18 months, the trainer had been given this information this week.

I don't have any more information other than the above unfortunately, but good luck to all those still waiting and congratulations to those of you who are starting shortly.

Well as some of you know I got the call last Friday. Just to keep you updated I got an email today saying who I have to report to and what to bring on Monday so I'll take that as confirmation in writing.

The DWP have also just paid for some nice new shirts, ties and shoes for me, but like a fool I should have got a whole lot more, but felt guilty. I may call them tomorrow and say I have reassessed my wardrobe needs and need a suit or two.

I also found out today that two of the AO's currently working there haven't heard anything yet and don't know if they'll have a job next month, but JCP are shuttling in staff from 40 miles away to work there. Work that one out.

Good luck to those that are waiting. If I hear anything more I'll let you know.
  • Hi Guys,

This was for AO, not AA, google IRC61880 and look at the "CACHED" version of the webpage not the direct link.

Thanks so much Sodthisforagameofsoldiers :D , I did not know you could read the old postings using 'CACHED'. I'm much happier now as it was the AO post I really wanted. I have applied for that many jobs over the last couple of months and I couldn't remember all the details of the ad.
  • Congrats Sweetikklemunchkin!! Hope you love your new job! Wahoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Just in time for Christmas!!!

    Anyway, update time!! Ahem ahem!

Today we was mostly learning about stuff we don't even need to know! Amazing! We had another group with us today who were a mixture of AO's and EO's, basically because most of us haven't go our employee numbers or smart cards yet (which you need to get you onto the computer systems), so we all have to share with the lucky people in the other group who have. So yeah, we learned about the role the EO's will be doing. Not sure if it was actually quite a bad idea doing that, as all the info i learnt yesterday and today are getting muddled up in my brain now (not that it is hard with my brain)

Anyway, there is SO much info to learn it is crazy. It is so tiring just sitting there and listening, never mind actually doing it! I think by the time i will get to actually do my job role, my brain will have burnt out and i will just sit slumped drooling over the desk at the people coming to sign on!

Anyway, after learning what the EO's are doing (might as well do the EO role now, since i've kinda been trained in it ) we had a talk on drugs and how to spot a user (needle hanging out of their arm etc...naaaah, just joking :D) and what to do if someone does have a drug abuse problem (refer them to a drugs rehabilitation centre). Twas actually quite interesting. You are not allowed to ask people directly if they take drugs, but you are okay to hint about it until they admit it!

After that we had another talk...this time on the Union and if we wanted to join (first 6 months free). The man mumbled through the whole talk and i didn't hear a thing. But signed up for it anyway.

After that we aired some concerns with our trainer and then he let us [STRIKE]escape[/STRIKE] go home :D

So yeah, i'm tired and now have to go and cook the dinner. Ciao! :p

Things with me are fab! Still hasnt quite sunk in that in less than 3 weeks i'll be working again. Its a great thought but kind of daunting too lol. Id rather just start tomorrow and get the dreaded first day over with!
