I've applied for an AA post too. I thought the same as you as everybody on here seems to be either AO or EO. I mentioned to somebody in my job centre that I had applied for an AA position and he said he wasn't aware anyone was taking on anybody for AA positions. Weird!

Stupid question, but what is the difference between a BDC and a job centre?

A BDC (Benefit Delivery Centre) deals with benefit enquiries and payments, this is based in an office that has no face to face customer contact. A Jobcentre is customer facing and deals with ensuring people keep to the agreements and rules of claiming JSA, advises people on employment and training and assists with jobsearch.

Have you chased this up on the telephone lately? If it was for a BDC post it may be that they are now not filling this post, if it is for a Jobcentre (which as previously said would be quite unusual) then you still have a chance to be posted.

    Best of luck

    Sam

Congrats sweetikklemunchkin! Made me smile...for a few seconds. XD

I walked into Working Links today, my regular adviser was saying weird stuff like "you'll earn more than us now, haha". Oh yeah and my training will unlikely to be like venus' as I report to the JCP office straight away (for shadowing I suspect). Also found out that the last batch of people employed at JCP in July were permanent. The rest are for a fixed one-year contract which isn't that great but I'll take that over any other job a hundred times over.
  • hi Sammy, no I am not entirely sure as I do not have a copy of the job vacancy advertised but I did save a copy of my application form and on that I had put Administrative Assistant for job description. I don't know where I would have got that from if it wasn't what it had said in the description though. The success letter verified the IRC number but did not mention the role I had applied for.
    Hi Guys,

This was for AO, not AA, google IRC61880 and look at the "CACHED" version of the webpage not the direct link.
