Anyone able to tell me how you will be contacted about a job? I am going to go mad over the bank holiday weekend . The phone call gave nothing away.

Have you tried to ring them yet?

Yes called the number on the message but the phone just rang out. I did not really think I would get through but hoped they might be on overtime :D. Will try Monday with the same hope.

Aaagh I cannot think of any other reason why the jobcentre I had my successful interview at would phone me? Trying not to get my hopes up after reading all the sagas on here about the recruitment process but mentally I have spent my first wage ;)

Most areas are working overtime, but they won't answer the phone as they will have specific work to do and the caller might not be calling about the recruitment exercise!
    Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...

Well, I am in no way qualified to say for sure, but I think they wouldn't ring unless they had a post for you. But the more I learn about all this, the more I realise that there absolutely no certainties. At least, none obvious to applicants.

Try to relax over the weekend though. I too am playing a frustrating waiting game so I know how you feel.

I never really thought that anyone would answer at the weekend but called just to satisfy the 'what if' voice in my head :D

just to let you know guys I'm in no way interested in a job with the DWP; i just read the hilarious stories...laugh my tits off cant believe a body can really be this dis-organised. Yes they're under pressure naturally but some of the stories just beggar belief lol.

What happened to the person who never attended an interview but was offered a postion? LOL!

I got in tonight and there was a message on my answering machine from the actual jobcentre I went for an interview with. It said this is ......from ............Jobcentre Plus and I am phoning about the recruitment excercise IRC............ you attended with us in March. Could you please phone me on ..........................
So not Newcastle but the actual jobcentre. So do you think it might actually be a job offer? If it is just some sort of survey I will be so upset. Trust it to be a bank holiday weekend. I will try in the morning and Monday but realise it may be Tuesday until I get through :o.
How did anyone who got a post actually get contacted?
it will be a start date as this comes direct from the jc that will be employing you - newcastle deal with the recruitment side and then the info goes accross to the jc so i think when newcastle say they no nothing they truely mean it. congratulations!
