Hey guys, I just found this forum, doesn't look like good news does it?

I applied for IRC 61418 Black Country in July, had lit/num tests 21st July, interview on 27th July then received success letter not mentioning any kind of waiting list in August and also got my CRB back from DS at the end of August, and then I've heard nothing since. Has anyone else applied for the IRC??

Ya..I did, had my tests some time in July, passed them, had interview end of July, got a success letter about 2 weeks after, all my checks+CRB came back quick, received a letter a week ago saying I will hear back from them at the end of October in regards to whether or not I have a job, I honestly thought I had a job secured, not that anyone confirmed this, but when I spoke to the employee services they were talking as if I had the job, just hang in there is all I can say, but expect that you haven't got the job and keep applying, that's what I'm doing.

Hi all, New to this but had to write. I applied for IRC58718 in April, had interview and letter saying on waiting list. After that got an email requesting CRB letter and sent that off, that was followed by a referee being asked for reference and then I got asked to complete another ATOS health form (I have epilepsy). I did all this and heard nothing but kept checking the DWP site for jobs. Eventually I saw an EO vacancy for the jobcentre across the road from here, so I emailed the guy who had been dealing with my application asking if there were any vacancies for AO's in this jobcentre. There was no reply so I went to my daughters for a couple of weeks (after telling them I would be away those weeks when I went for the interview). I got back only to find letters from ATOS giving me a general pre employment screening appointment - the week before I got home! this was accompanied by a letter off the guy who was dealing with me saying because I missed the checks they could no longer offer me a position. Obviously I wanted to scream so I rang him up and told him all the details and that they were informed of the dates I would be away and so after checking with his manager he told me to get intouch with ATOS and ask for another appointment, but if they wouldn't give me one there was nothing more he could do. I rang them and have another appointment next week, so I don't know what to expect now. I was hopeful initially at getting through the interview and all the checks I was asked for but after reading everyones posts I'm not so sure what will happen now. Has anyone been through this ATOS check and knows what happens after it?

Hi chris, is this a telephone consultation or face to face, the usual process is a telephone consultation 1st unless it is recommended by a doctor to go straight to face 2 face. either way after u are booked the appt, they will go through lots of questions with u, once this has been completed they will then (atos) decide the next course of action( if u had no serious health problems the tele consulatation wud be sufficient) they may need to clarify with ur doctor on some things. A report is then written and sent 1 to DWP and one to ur GP, it is then down to your gp to respond asap. once u are deemed fit to work (which im sure u are so do not worryotherwise u wudnt of applied lol) the DWP is notified and things usually move quite quickly then, (but dont forget that the freeze may affect timescales) i hope this helps, i used to work at Atos BRIEFLY on the DWP team so have a little insight into the procedures but cannot say what ur doctor or what ur report will say. Hope that helps x

I will be doing the online test for HEO. Has anyone done it before? What should I expect?

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

I found this information on the A&DC website who developed the course. I guess I now know the answer to my question.

    The Online Capability Assessment Tool

A&DC worked with DWP to design a groundbreaking tool which incorporated Situational Judgement (Action Centred) questions with Verbal and Numerical Reasoning questions, all of which related to business-focused case studies.

Three different skills can be assessed within one test: judgement/action planning, verbal ability and numerical ability.

The tool provided a stretching assessment of individual’s current abilities and effectively identified those with particularly high potential. As such, it could be used to identify those employees who would benefit from fast track development. The qualifying elements within the A&DC Online Capability Assessment Tool would pinpoint the individuals who would gain most from accelerated development.

In designing the Online Capability Assessment Tool, a thorough understanding of the effective behaviours for success at each level was necessary. This was gained through structured interviews and workshops.

The questions and answers used were determined by ‘Subject Matter Experts’ from within the organisation. This ensured that ‘correct’ multiple choice answers reflected effective performance within the target roles at DWP.

Thanks for that sweetikklemunchkin- its a face to face appointment probably due to my being seriously ill for a few years, but better now, I just wondered if that meant you were likely to get a job once you were declared fit for work by the Atos people but having read this forum I won't hold my breath :-)

it does mean ur on the way there as they only do this when they know u are going or coming close to being offered a position, but if u do have some medical history like ur saying it maybe that they just want to check if they were to offer u something u would be ok, i know the freeze is on but id def see this as a positive step x
