As I've been successful - they'd be doing those checks without needing to inform me by letter wont they? My CRB has been received by the DWP - I'm just waiting for my start date.
Congrats to those have received their start dates!
As I said before, it appears the process varies depending on the person running the excercise.
I recieved 3 letter in 3 days.
Monday I recieved my Literacy and Numeracy Results
Tuesday I recieved my offer of a place on a waiting list.
Wednesday I recieved a letter stating they are now doing pre-employment checks.
I too filled out all my CRB forms at the interview, there is nothing for me to action on the third letter, just have to wait0 -
Hi Everyone
I applied for EO vacancies in Jobcentre Plus for Manchester area. I received a letter stating I had been successful and have been placed on a waiting list that will last for 12 months. I contacted DWP for more information and was told that no-one had been recruited for the area yet and that I was inbetween 100 and 120 on the waiting list.
I am really disappointed as the job advert did not say anything about a waiting list and a possible 12 month wait. What are the chances of being recruited in the next few months when there are over 100 people before me on the waiting list?
Is anyone in similar position or been in this position?0 -

I also attended for EO positions in Manchester (back in February) returned a CRB form in March and on 1 April got a letter putting me on a 6 month waiting list. I did find out I was in top 20 on merit list but no one has been recruited yet to my knowledge. When i rang last week the lady said she thought they may start in next couple of weeks but who knows?0 -

Hi guys,
Been reading the forum with interest. Have a couple of questions. I have my literacy and numeracy test this Saturday in Coventry. The letter states that i might have an interview the same day is this likely? I am going to prepare anyway but I would just like to know how many people were asked the same day for an interview.
I have lost my passport, but I have my birth certificate photo driving licence and counterpart - will this be an issue? that should prove who I am shouldn't it?
If i get an interview, are there just 4 questions asked? or should I prepare for more.
Thanks for your help in advance guys (getting a tad nervous now)0 -
They interviewed me on the same day as my tests. They never asked anything other than the four questions on the sheet. They were friendly and chatty though.0

Hi, I have recently just recieved my 'waiting list' letter, although it is only for 6 months! Sounds promising if the lady at dwp said you should get a job....they normally dont even give you that much information! Can I ask what position on the waiting list you started at?0 -
Hi I had my interview and passed tests 28th Feb, I had a letter saying I was successful and on a waiting list. However about a week later I had a call from HR Newcastle to make sure that I had sent back my CRB forms which I had, she then told me I have been pulled off the waiting list for pre-recruitment checks.
I rang her again last week and was told that there is still no news and that they have a 30 day turnaround for the checks and this should be up in about 10 days.
Is there anybody else who is in this position in Cornwall?? And does this mean that they have a position for me?0 -

Hi,
I had my tests on Saturday just gone and was also told the interview would be the same day, which it was. We all took the tests at the same time, they took them off to mark (very quickly!) and then returned and called 5/6 peoples names out. They left the room and the remaining people were told we'd passed and were given an interview time.
The first interviews were at 10am and were done in groups of about 7/8 people? so they only had 15 minutes beforehand. (I don't know if everyone after us was given an interview that day as we left the room).
Mine was at 10:45am, but in the time we were waiting we filled in some forms (medical stuff) and were given the CRB forms to complete at home. We then went and waited in death row, er, sorry, for the interview
I was called shortly afterwards and went into a room where two people interviewed. One asked 2 questions, the other asked the other 2.
I must admit, I was hoping for a bit more interviewing (if that makes sense?) as it was literally "Give me an example of such and such" 4 times and just felt a bit odd.
With regards to your ID, i'd check through the paperwork you were sent. I'd assume it was the same (mine said they needed proof of age, full name, signature, D.O.B and full permanent address) but double check what they have asked for. I took my passport and driving licence, but didn't have a photo (only had a days notice for the interview) but that didn't seem to cause a problem.
I asked at the end of the interview how many positions were available as knew they were recruiting across the region and they said they weren't sure, but probably about 50! Not a lot considering how many people turned up for our group, plus however many more there were that day aswell as the other areas.
Good luck and sorry for rambling!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
