Hi all,
Wanted to give you hope....
I aplied June, interviewed end July, success letter early august, CRB back mid august and call mid sep.
I am now just completing first week training and it is good.
Although don't know what actual jobcentre will be like.
I am in north west where at mo there isnt a freeze but i can see why only a few get the calls because the training groups are small, 13 in our grup covering lot of merseyside-wiral to huyton although they are running new groups ....at mo there is 2 training groups in our district.
I have to say though training is organised and people are very friendly and it is very welcoming.
I know its so frustrating......I've been there....but if you had a sucess letter no waiting list and in aeas that are not on freeze i do think you will be contacted soon.
Good luck all.0 -
Going off on a tangent here, but does anyone know where I'd stand JSA-wise if I was out of the country for about 10 days (I'd obviously time it between signons and continue to look for work online while away). Basically I can visit family at any point and with the freeze until the end of October now seems like a good time to disappear.0

I applied for IRC58723 Tees Valley back in April, eventually got letter through saying successful and i was on a waiting list. Have called Newk several times to be told all checks are back and fine and that i was 4th on the merit list and would be in the first batch of call ups. The guy was very helpful and checked to see when IRC58723 jobs would be called up but he couldnt give me a definate date. Has anybody heard anything contrary to this?0

twss - I have just come back from holiday and told them the dates i was away and they marked their records not to call.0

They're not going to be calling during the dates I'd be away
I don't think they'll call this year.
I'm more concerned about my JSA. If I go away do I forfeit a load of money despite the fact that I'm still looking for a job?0 -

I think the DWP is quite target driven too, I can't think of any other explanation for some of the daft things the job centre does.~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0
