Hi, I'm not posting on the thread anymore, I've had enough of being flamed for trying to let people know whats going on, I found out the other two areas are West Mids and North West as well as London, this only applies to recruitment for Jobcentres not Benefit Delivery Centres.

Hope this affects you. Feel free to let others know.

    Sam
  • doesnt really tell u much but thought the other areas might be of interest to sum1
  • Well, I've just been on the phone for Cambridgeshire and she didn't really say much. Just that the centres are looking over their positions and whether or not they need to employ more people. She said all I can do is wait for a call telling me that i've got a job. She didn't say how long this will be or that I can expect a letter in the post. Just wait for a call.
  • Anyone else apply for IRC62668 for the London area? Got to go in for a Lit/Num test on 24th Sept at the Thistle Hotel.

I am excellent at Maths, but regarding the Lit test - Are there any other kinds of mistakes apart from a capital letter needed here and there and spelling errors, i.e. basic stuff?

Also, what would you guys wear to this test? As far as I am aware, there is no interview on the same day so since my university is nearby, I was planning on wearing just a simple smart shirt and jeans. :)
  • Im just going to try and forget about it now. Easier said than done but Ill have to think along the lines that I didnt get a job and if I ever get a call its a bonus. Ive started applying for more stuff and praying that I get this other job.

    Sw!nes.
  • right, i finally managed to get through to Brian at emplyment services who read a statement out that they had been given, im paraphrasing but the basics are
no1 who is waiting to get posted will hear anything before LATE OCTOBER, the ones who have a start date already are fine to start, and thats all he could tell me really, other than it is to monitor staff levels to see where/if ppl are still needed, im devastated, have had a rotten weekend, and now a s**t monday, sorry to bring bad news for ya
devastating news but think i have already resigned myself to the fact that this job aint gonna happen. think its a disgusting way to treat people.
  • Just been to my sign on at JC+. Was advised that going back to looking for full time work - rather than temp stuff - would be a good idea. Sussex area for me.

It was pretty basic stuff - e.g., spelling mistakes, capital letters, and grammatical mistakes.

It was pretty casual - I just wore, a black pair or trousers and a nice t-shirt. I think you'll be fine with jeans, as I saw a couple of people with them on.

    Hope this helps.

that doesnt sound very optimistic does it, but think that may be good advice for all of us, cant believe this has happened

Same here! I was so happy and relieved when I received the success letter in the post without mention of a waiting list. Now I feel as if it has all been for nothing and angry that we have had to find this all out for ourselves ( trouble for most as they don't even answer their phones!)
