Well, I haven't been on here for a couple of days and after just catching up on all the comments I have just got one thing to say guys....

Chinese Whispers!!!

I am not saying that the info given on here yesterday is false BUT....I will believe it WHEN and IF it comes from the horses mouth.

We do not know who or where the freeze is supposed to affect.
We have all had a tough time whilst waiting for "the call" and this might not even affect ANY of us..my advice would be to ignore it UNTIL you know it directly affects the job that YOU are waiting for.

Lets face it I have read numerous things on here that weren't true and even if this freeze is going to happen we all know that its better to get the facts yrself rather than listen to someone elses version, in the heat of the moment when we are all annoyed anyway how do you know that the facts aren't being over exagerated???

hi all just finished reading whats been happening surely they would not be wasting money on new adverts for new jobs if they werent going to employ more people ???

Well done for getting the letter though. If I was you I'd ring up the number on your letter to see what position you are on list - many on here seem to have done that. Did you apply for the AO position too ?

I also applied for 60895. I got the 'letter offering a place on a waiting list' on 18 August and when I rang Newcastle they said they weren't allowed to tell people where they were on the waiting list any more.

I've not heard anything else, but the guy I sign on with at the job centre said that he had to wait two months before hearing anything. I wish they'd hurry up and do something - the uncertainty is a killer :mad:

I made my point/gripe yesterday so will not go into again but I do agree with tazz2 that's it's best to wait until you hear it yourself from the horses mouth.

The bottom line is people are still being called with start dates. People are also still being called for the tests and interviews !! What does that tell us ? There are still adverts for positions all over the country on their website. Surely if they had enough applicants already they would of at least put a message up on the vacany page informing people of any pause. Really doesn't make any sense allowing people to continue sending in applications does it ?

The whole latest recruitment drive seems to have been mis-managed from start to finish and I don't think their right hand knows what their left hand is doing. But from what I hear it's always been like this with DWP - their recruiting process can usually be slow. It's just been magnified tenfold by the sheer number of people applying in this latest drive.

I admit I was very upset yesterday but it's amazing how a few (maybe more than a few) drinks and a good nights sleep can lift the fog and a hint of clarity prevails.

hi everyone.
thought i would let you all know that i have been to job centre this morning for my 13 week review and an information session.
i actually spoke to the site manager and she said she had not heard about any recruitment freeze.
i am going to just wait and see what happens over next few weeks but have decided to up my job seeking and have arranged to go on a small course to increase my chances.
going to stay positive and just hope for the best.
