thank u for that, can i just ask does this mean if u are further down the list there is a chance there may not be a job for u at the end of this process then, im number 81 out of a possible 300 jobs, so am slightly concerned, do we have any timescale how long this will take please

We don't have any timescale, neither do we know whether it may be more than a puase once they have looked at the situation, this directive has come from Leigh Lewis Permanent Secretary of DWP and information is lacking even for those involved.

With regards the waiting list, I really can't say, there are always lots of people of don't turn up for their start date, leave after a couple of days etc. General turnover of staff is quite high so there always hope.

If you've already been given a start date then you will be ok to start.

    Thanks for the info :)

So would this "pause" not apply to a benefit delivery centre (BDC)?

Sorry, I might not have made it clear enough. There are three operational areas in Jobcentre Plus, Contact Centres, BDCs and Jobcentres, the only areas the pause does not apply to are Jobcentres in three regions (one of which is definitely London). The pause applies to all Contact Centres and BDCs.

Its supposed to be to look at where we are with the recruitment. So many people have been recruited over the last six months so quickly that they want to take a another look at volumes of claims being received and revise what recruitemtn is needed where.

Did you hear anything on timelines and how long this is expected to take before they start placing people again(if we are still needed, that is....)?

Edit: Ooops, I took too long making my post and I see you answered my question in the meantime
