  • Got my start date - 19 October - not what was originally (tentatively) agreed but I'll take it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh. How do people manage to ignore the phone ringing for so long? I've been trying to call the number I was given for the person in charge of my IRC since morning!
I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A

Been told I should hear about a start date for 60369 towards the end of september - the waiting is killing me!

One question for people already in the jobs - are we allowed to have coffee mugs or water bottles on the desks or is drinking only allowed in breaks or a tea room? Also, what are the facilities like for storing and warming lunch and making coffee and so on?

    Cheers

I haven't started working there yet, but i have seen plenty of them supping a cup of something whenever I've been in there, so i should you are allowed to drink unless they want a team of very parched workers!

Another day of making phone calls......
Another day of waiting for them to ring me back.....

Do I now know what is happening with my checks????

NO I DON'T!!!! I'd have more chance of winning this weeks lottery than I would getting a straight answer from them...

Ooooh, 19th Oct would be ideal for me! (enough time to have a couple of weeks visiting my mum in Spain :D) Great stuff that you've got a date, did they say why it had changed from the 28th Sept?

I've rung up again today to find out that they have lost my original CRB check, but they sent it again on Friday so it should come back to the DWP this week. Good job i've been harrassing them as this wouldn't have come to their attention otherwise.

Anyway, I am now at position 42 as 3 people above me on the list have been placed. ( not that the position on the list actually means anything! lol :rotfl:)

Also found out that they dont send out reference letters if your employment checks come back complete on the HMRC system, mine have, so they wont be writing to my referee's, which i'm happy about as hopefully it'll speed things up. I'm not in a rush to start, just want a date, so I know where I stand!
  • Found this thread today and saw that nobody here seems to have posted any information on IRC61865 which was for EO in Manchester

I had my interview on 17th August and have yet to receive a letter of success or rejection, but will update when i do.

Does anyone know how long this should take? I was worried because the e-mail account i gave them was closed down a week ago, but as they seem to contact you in writing then i'm no longer stressing about missed e-mails.
