DWP employment waiting list

IRC 60663.
O.k, so I am now starting to lose all faith in DWP.
I attended my interview on 9th July, received the "Succesful" letter on 29th July.
I rang Newcastle this morning, WHEN I eventually got through to Valerie she said she was no longer dealing with this IRC but she did still have some details on her computer....so, she checks my name and tells me that some of my checks are still outstanding!!
When I asked which checks she said she couldn't tell me bcos she is no longer dealing with it??? She could not give me the name or number for whoever is dealing with it...hmm helpful don't ya think??
I then rang Disclosure Scotland who have never even heard of me or received any paperwork for me!!!
I then call Valerie again to find out IF my CRB has even been posted to Disclosure Scotland yet.... and guess what...she couldn't tell me bcos she is no longer dealing with this IRC.
So please tell me, if she cannot help me and cannot tell me who can, Disclosure Scotland cannot help me then who the hell can???
This is starting to get so annoying now, everyone seems to be left in limbo, do these people realise that some of us can't just put our lives on hold just incase we may actually get "The Call".
It is so frusrating when they lead us to believe that we have got the job only to find out that infact you are just a name on a bit of paper sitting in the darkest depths of someones office never to be seen again...or at least thats how they make you feel.
AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!
iv been in the same siutation is it proper annoying.
Solution for you;
Email scotland disclosure- with your full name and DOB ask them if they have processed your Crb.
info.disclosure.scotland@bt.com
Email Ruth davidson she works in the checking team a HR newcastle
ruth.davidson@jobcentreplus.gsi.gov.uk
Fax them a letter:
Fax:01912162644.
Call this number, this is part of the checking team: 01912166771.
MOYRA.SCOTT@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK
finally email The head of recruiment and ask her what is happening with your applcation..provide her with full details of your fusration, and how unhelpful some memerbs of staff have been etc
try all these.......you may get a respond from Moyra about a week...maybe more if she is on annual leave.
hope that helps you and everyone else.
Expect about 6months waiting time from the date you applied.0 -

Thanks for all the info, I've been trying all day to find e-mail addressess and phone numbers but with no success so I really do appreciate your reply to my post.
I first applied on 16th June,
Online Assessment 23rd June,
Interview 9th July,
Successful letter 29th July.
I have been told that I am 41st on the list but they would not tell me how many were on the list or how many vacancies are to be filled.
I will get onto sending the e-mails straight away and fingers crossed might actually know what is happening next week!!
Thankx again.;)0 -
Hi there
Who is it that my son should contact by email if he wants to find out where he is on the waiting list.
He was emailed a week after taking the online sift test to let him know he was successful and that he was placed on the 6 month waiting list.
A month gone by so far.
This email was sent from DWP/GSI dept, you cannot email them back direct on that one unfortunately.
Cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Oh and i wouldn't feel deflated...until you actually get a start date (set in stone job offer) they will continue to have you look for work, as that is what you need to do to qualify for JSA. No job seeking...no money!!! Just say you will continue looking in case something better comes up.
My boyfriend is 156 so there's at least that many.
Have you heard back from your disclosure or anything else from DWP yet?Hi, I was originally down for 9.15 but 'cos passport was out of date had to come home and get endorsed photo with letter on headed paper from someone who'd known me for at least 3 years - nearly didn't bother going back, but made it back for 11.15 slot.
Where are you hoping for Venus? I'm hoping for Upton but will take any. Like you I ticked nearly all the boxes thinking it would give me a better chance:o
Where did you find out how many posts were avaliable? I'm hoping that's correct as every time I try to ring up I get fobbed off!
How far is your progress?
I wish they'd bloody hurry up, he needs money to start saving. I wanna go on holiday! :rotfl:
Debt so far: Natwest Overdraft - [STRIKE]£1250[/STRIKE] £0, Barclays Overdraft - £1500
, Abbey Overdraft - [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £0, Car finance - £30000 -

He has already been interviewed, yes? I have no idea who he can contact via e-mail but you can TRY the newcastle number that would have been on the top of his sucess waiting list letter or they may have included the regional recruitment office number in that letter as well. I've only ever been told my merit list numbers from newcastle staff - every time I've rung the regional office I get fobbed off.
He may be waiting quite a while - encourage him to look for other jobs in the meantime.0 -
Was told today that DWP only send off one batch of CRB checks each week, on the Tuesday. That explains where some of the delay comes in. Unfortunately my success letter was dated for Wednesday, so chances are that my form won't be sent until this Tuesday coming. Add a couple of days for postage, the current 7 days turn around at Disclosure Scotland, and a couple more days postage back, that's probably 21st Sept at earliest before DWP can actually do anything with it. That ties in with what they told me about the checks currently taking 20+ days before everything gets passed to the local business unit.
I was told that I shouldn't expect The Call for another 2 months as it can take the business unit a fair bit of time to sort themselves out as well.
So for anyone only just getting success letters: you should expect to wait at least 2 months before getting The Call. If you get it any earlier, you're one of the lucky ones.0 -
hello there,
This is my first post so pardon me.
i applied for an eo position at dwp for the southeast and gatwick area, irc60375, received a letter yday saying am successful, no waiting list mentioned and that they are doing pre recruitment checks. has anyone else been on this particular interview. any news will be welcome
This should mean that you have a job once the local offices get themselves into gear and once all your checks are back. You can try ringing the number at the top of your letter and asking if all of your checks are cleared and your details have been passed to the business. If so, then your should get a call with a start date within the next couple of months.0 -

Hi thanks so much for your response.;)
My son undertaken the Sifts test online last month, a week on he received the email to tell him Congratulations, and he will be placed on the waiting list, however no interview yet.
He continues to search other jobs as well, so fingers crossed.;)
My son used to work for them before for the pensions and carers dept, but for that one was temp and taken on internally last year in July to April this year where he was given an extended contract.
Will tell him to contact Newcaslte anyway, thank you.
