DWP employment waiting list

Gah *looks at the time* Another week gone by with no word...0

Hi all, been reading this thread for last couple of days and thought I'd add my experience.
I attended assessment day at Holiday Inn Liverpool on 31st July for IRC 61139, received successful letter 12th August, received disclosure certificate last week. I phoned Employee Services in Newcastle on Tuesday to try and find out what was happening only to be told the person dealing with that IRC number was on leave. I tried finding out where I was on the merit list and was told there was no list as such, and that people would be contacted from whichever JC needed staff. I was also told that everyone with a successful letter would be offered a post as they need 180 people.
However, when I attended my local JC+ to sign for JSA this morning, triumphantly clutching my successful letter and disclosure, my personal advisor seemed unimpressed! She just carried on looking for jobs for me. Does she know something we don't?
Now feel deflated.
Ohhhhhh i was there on that day!!! What time did you have your test/interview? I am in the same boat as you. Got my crb and now just waiting, waiting...waiting! 180 people needed....probably 300 people have successful letters!!!! Oh god....imagine!!!!
Oh and i wouldn't feel deflated...until you actually get a start date (set in stone job offer) they will continue to have you look for work, as that is what you need to do to qualify for JSA. No job seeking...no money!!! Just say you will continue looking in case something better comes up."You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

All very confusing, this there's a waiting list - no there's a waiting list and merit list - no, there's no list !!!

IRC 60663.
O.k, so I am now starting to lose all faith in DWP.
I attended my interview on 9th July, received the "Succesful" letter on 29th July.
I rang Newcastle this morning, WHEN I eventually got through to Valerie she said she was no longer dealing with this IRC but she did still have some details on her computer....so, she checks my name and tells me that some of my checks are still outstanding!!
When I asked which checks she said she couldn't tell me bcos she is no longer dealing with it??? She could not give me the name or number for whoever is dealing with it...hmm helpful don't ya think??
I then rang Disclosure Scotland who have never even heard of me or received any paperwork for me!!!
I then call Valerie again to find out IF my CRB has even been posted to Disclosure Scotland yet.... and guess what...she couldn't tell me bcos she is no longer dealing with this IRC.
So please tell me, if she cannot help me and cannot tell me who can, Disclosure Scotland cannot help me then who the hell can???
This is starting to get so annoying now, everyone seems to be left in limbo, do these people realise that some of us can't just put our lives on hold just incase we may actually get "The Call".
It is so frusrating when they lead us to believe that we have got the job only to find out that infact you are just a name on a bit of paper sitting in the darkest depths of someones office never to be seen again...or at least thats how they make you feel.

You could ask them to review your JSA agreement and have it modified so that you are only being asked to look for temporary work...0 -

i think it diff for each area i know the south yorkshire posts do not have a waiting list every dwp person i have spoken to have said the same, but other areas do have a waiting list, no wonder they cant get things right if we are confused.

Hi, I was originally down for 9.15 but 'cos passport was out of date had to come home and get endorsed photo with letter on headed paper from someone who'd known me for at least 3 years - nearly didn't bother going back, but made it back for 11.15 slot.
Where are you hoping for Venus? I'm hoping for Upton but will take any. Like you I ticked nearly all the boxes thinking it would give me a better chance:o0 -
Oh well Upton is my local jobcentre! So there or Birkenhead and Liverpool would be easiest to get to, just one bus ride. I also ticked Wallasey, Morton and Bromborough... and perhaps one other (cant remember) which would be a couple of bus rides!!! My hand just wouldn't stop ticking!!!
I had my interview at 10:45. They nearly got fussy with me as my bank statement for my proof of address wasn't the most recent one...but eventually they said it would be ok.
Can't believe you had to trek all the way home!! Nightmare!
Ohhh we could be working together someday!!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

Many to be consumed TONIGHT - I don't think you need to ask why.
Thank you to someone on here for the info - big, big thanks. You know who you are. :kisses3:0
