I wonder if anyone here can advise me.

I am starting as a full time EO on the 1st of Sept. However, I already had 2 days off (for school) planned at the end of Sept, Oct, and Dec. Then I also have one week off in the middle of Nov and my xmas holiday from the 14th of Dec to the 8th of Jan.

These off days and holidays had been approved by my current employer as I had given advance notice of them and my flights are already booked for all of them.

I now wonder how it would look starting at the DWP on the 1st of Sept and presenting this list of days off that I would require especially with one just 23 days after starting work.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated especially from people who have been with the DWP.

Hey Cookie, just to put your mind at ease a little, I also rang Newcastle today and they were very helpful. Although I was told they haven't started on the checks for EO role (IRC61099), there are 275 position available so being 80th is nothing! I was very lucky to get someone who added to my notes that I have passed the CRB for the AO(61139) and will do the same when my HRMC results come through.

Let me know when you get your CRB back and when you get "the call".

Oh thats great new Jimi, 80th position for 275 posts doesn't sound bad at all...just have to hope that they have some quite local...thanks for that.
When I spoke to them on Monday though they did say that they had sent off for checks and some had been done!!!

Will let you know as and when I hear anything!
  • I GOT THE MO F'ING ''CALL'' BABY YEEEEAAAAA

Hello everyone, i haven't posted for a while but like many of you here i have suffered the torturous wait for 'the call' and after over 3 months from my sucessful letter (no waiting list) i finally got a start date today !!!! thank you to everyone who has posted on here i would have lost my sanity had i not got info and support from the great people on here. To all those still waiting i know exactly the rollercoaster you are on but do not get too down about it - the day does eventually come and you will get there.

    Stay Strong Everyone
  • I too went for this post and not many people were there for interview, but there were loads to do the lit/num tests. There were only 3 others in my group for interview. I have tried calling the number but cannot get through its just ringing out. good luck
  • Does anyone know about IRC 60800, for the Jobcentre plus in Newcastle. Had the interview on th 6th of July, then received a letter saying I was on a 12 month waiting list. I received my disclosure Scotland letter last week, and phoned the DWP to find out what that meant, but they didn't really know. I'm getting a bit stressed with all the waiting!!

    Hi,

I have an interview for IRC62053 (EO position) next weekend. I was wondering whether the interview will be based on four competencies (Building Capability, Delivering a Customer Focused Service, Leading & Managing People and Performance) or will it be based on the 'operational delivery competencies' (this includes a further two competencies, delivering a professional service & Analysing, Improving and Changing.

    http://www.dwp.gov.uk/about-dwp/work...irc62053.shtml

    thank you

Hope that helps....if you need any more info you can PM me....

I would add that the focus is definitely on YOUR ability to lead, inspire and provide a professional customer service. Whereas, the AO questions are all to do with providing professional service and adapting to change.

I know these things really well now - I am going for my 7th and 8th DWP interviews next week - I am now a veteran.

Hello all!!! Im new to the forum. Have been reading your great posts for a few weeks now as I went for an EO interview for 60895 in Cardiff on 31st July and had my successful letter - waiting list 6mths - 2 days ago. So I just need to wait. Patience is not one of my strong points though so any advice would be greatly recieved! I do have some concerns that I cant find any info on 60895....has anyone gone for this role? Do you know if its a perm or contract role?

I mean, Im glad Ive got through to this stage but I dont know how excited I should allow myself to be. Luckily I do have a job so I can keep plodding on but Im sooooooo ready for a change!!!

    Over and out xx

There's myself and Trevormax (there may be more) who interviewed in Cardiff but we went for the AO IRC 60862 positions. I interviewd on the 28th at the CIA.

I've had some medical history so just had a telephone assesment re my condition etc. They now want me to see a Occupational Practicioner next week to see if I need any work based assistence ie desktop/chair etc. The lady was talking as if I had the job, although I've yet to get confirmation. I'm taking it as a good sign and remaining positive.

Well done for getting the letter though. If I was you I'd ring up the number on your letter to see what position you are on list - many on here seem to have done that. Did you apply for the AO position too ?
