    So
whats eveyone think to this, i was 82 on the list , I got a 12 month waiting letter, which after reading this thread seems to suggest I did rather badly at interview !!!

Anyway I rang to clarify and they said that they had called for 41 people so i was now 41 in the list, so does anyone think I have a cat in hell's chance of getting a job in the next 12 months or shall i just forget about it now??

    thoughts:eek:

It doesn't necessarily mean you did badly at the interview if you are lower...just that you may have been interviewed with a batch of exceptional people!!! If that's the case than even if normally you would be have been placed high on the list with your score, you will be bumped down places, just because the standard was so high.

So you could have done very well!

I think you stand a chance, but also keep your eye out for other jobs and maybe temp work until you get a placement. Keep ringing up maybe to ask how far things are coming along.

well it depends on how many people were interviewed - I was 100 in 1 list but 700 people were interviewed so 100 is ok - however I was 19 in another list that had 1000 interviewees so that was bloody brilliant - on the other hand i failed 2 interviews so I definitely did rather badly at those.

It's a matter of perspective - I would rather be 41st on the waiting list than not on it
  • Counterfeit - I'm awaiting a call from the bods in W. Yorks about the irc60540 position, having been successful. Who was it you spoke to? Do you have a number? I find myself in the awkward position of waiting to hear from them about a start date while having a start date (26th August - next week!) for the AO job and I'm not really sure what to do...

Ah, actually, it says you rang the numbers on your successful letters, so ignore that. When I rang them they were slightly less helpful than that. Maybe I'll try again later this week...
  • I suppose it depends who you get through to.

I know what you mean about what to do - it's a tricky one. You could end up with 6 or weeks work as an AO and then have to switch to EO, if they would let you. Otherwise, stick it out for the time being but that isn't necessarily the option you can afford. I'm in a quandry myself.

Just rang the number on the letter I had and they haven't even received the merit list from Manpower yet.
They are starting to panic themselves as they want people to start within a couple of weeks. I mentioned some people may have issues with notice for current employers so she said they understand that and it wouldn't effect those that have to give say 4 weeks notice.

It also appears that the majority of the vacancies are for the Newport BDC site with only a couple available in the other areas. I think she said there was only 2 or 3 in the Newport JCP for instance.

She said those succesful should hear within the week though.

They're taking their sweet time aren't they? I spoke to a guy working donw the JC today and he said they have apparently been sending out rejection letters over the past week or so so if you haven't had a rejection letter, it's looking good that you may have the job.

I went for an FTA AA interview in DWP Cwmbran pension service on Saturday and they said I would def know within 2 weeks. I would prefer the AO job as the pay is more, but at this moment, I will be taking the first job that gets offered to me as my money is low.

Here's hoping we get a letter in the next few days to say we got the job. We may even be on the same team lol

Looking for a bit more input....... (i posted earlier)
I got a disclosure scotland, thru post this morning, got my success letter with 6 month waiting list last week.
    Is this a good sign??
    What do you think??

Trixxi, having your DS cert through means you have cleared the criminal records check. They will also do a HMRC check on your past employment.

If you are clear on both of these, then you will be put on a list until a vacancy becomes available - either by someone leaving the JC or someone higher up on the list not accepting the role.

Hope this makes sense, but from reading others posts, you've got a very long wait ahead.

HI....Yes I had interview 23rd July at foresight centre liverpool for EO at 9.15am. Everything went smooth for me though, passed tests, filled out forms and straight into interview out by 11.20. 2 weeks 2 days later received both test certificate and success letter. Have also been on phone and found out 80th (YIKES!) on merit list for post (but this is for whole of merseyside form warrington through liverpool up to chester-so not too worried) and they are have conducted some of the checks but still doing...started checks on 21 July...so they rea beginning checks before know whether people succesful or not.

My friend also applied but only received initially test cert latter, few days later recived unsuccessful letter.

Post number was IRC61099. Ring 01912168256, they seem be answering quickly today.

    Good luck.

On a different note....has anyone had an e-mail inviting for online test for national HEO posts, number IRC 0041 as they said today be notifying via e-mail!!

    Cheers

Hey Cookie, just to put your mind at ease a little, I also rang Newcastle today and they were very helpful. Although I was told they haven't started on the checks for EO role (IRC61099), there are 275 position available so being 80th is nothing! I was very lucky to get someone who added to my notes that I have passed the CRB for the AO(61139) and will do the same when my HRMC results come through.

Let me know when you get your CRB back and when you get "the call".

They certainly are mate. But some reassurance I guess re the rejection letters etc. I keep saying to myself "no news is good news".
I found out yesterday that one of the people at my gym works at the BDC in Newport and she says they are desperate for the new starters to begin. Seems Manpower are dragging their heels a bit.

Good luck though and hopefully like you said we may end up as colleagues ;-)

Ok so this is going to sound weird, but I have just had my results from an assessment I had in MARCH!!!!! It was an EO role but they told me I had failed the tests, but from looking at these results I DIDN'T - how annoying!!!!!

Either way I;ve had my success letters for EO and AO this time and had 2 CRB checks back, but now i'm wondering if the second CRB is from the EO I applied to in March???

    What do you think????

Hi. update for those who went to this exercise.

I called them yesterday and was told that everyone should expect to get interview results within the next five working days.

I asked her if this was still for future vacancies as advertised and she said to the best of her knowledge there are vacancies and they should be filled in less than 6 weeks. No idea how many vacancies.

From what I saw at interview, there were not that many people (16 the day I went), the interviews were held over 3 days and I know the manpower lady tried to get me to change my interview day so as to fill the Wed and Thurs slots ( a maximum of 40 a day she said). So at the mos 96 people took part.

Anyhow, these people are so unpredictable so let's wait and see!!!
I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A
