DWP employment waiting list

Janet,
You probably filled in a form giving consent to fill in the crb and for referees to be contacted. If you're successful you'll get the crb forms and referee forms etc in the post as I did. Fill these in and return them to keep the ball rolling....albeit very very slowly. Government could do with speeding this up a bit if we're ever supposed to get people back to work.0 -
I filled form in at interveiw stage and have heard nothing since. does it get returnd to them?
Did you fill in a CRB Disclosure form? go to http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/ perhaps you might find an online form there.....have you filled in one of those? It requires you to confirm your address for the last 5 years, mother's maiden name etc...Once this check is completed (Basic Disclosure) the original is sent back to us....DWP keeps a copy in their files....0 -
This is getting difficult.
I've been succesful at interview stage, returned my CRB, just hoping they'll contact my refs. asap.
In the meantime, I have been offered another job that doesn't pay as well, but is on my door step and regular hours. I've accepted it, bust like a madman, I think I want the DWP EO position!
Annoyingly, I am also awaiting release from my current position, so I can get my redundancy. I don't want to lose my redundancy, and I don't think I can get released until the end of May.
Confusing times!Bored0 -
Ring up the DWP and see how far along the waiting list you are. If there are something in the order of 50 people ahead of you then don't hold your breath getting a position. If you're near to the top then I say hang on for redundancy.0

Should I still ring them, even though they haven't informed me that I am on a waiting list?
I've just had the letter to say that I was successful at interview stage and they are now awaiting my CRB checks and refs.
Thanks,Bored0 -
In response to JoeBreakdown - If they don't mention the waiting list then I'd say you've actually been allocated a job (dependant on your references and CRB) so no need to ask about the waiting list - well done
Everyone else - I have been told I am th on the waiting list, is this good or bad? They didn't say out of how many but I don't suppose that matters. This is such a convoluted way of recruiting!0 -
I have been told that when the checks are complete I will either be offered a place or go on the waiting list! Its all a bit odd really never known such a performance over a job, the postion I went for is not for brain surgery or anything!0

I had a my Disclosure Scotland "certificate" in the post today, will one have gone to the DWP aswell or do I need to send the copy I have on to them?Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -
janet, i really do hope thats not the case. i was under the impression that since i did not get a letter saying i have been put on a waiting list right at the start, am assuming there is a job there for me! do they not tell people before they carry out all the checks that they are or are not on a waiting list?
i need this job or i will go out of my mind! i think it will be cruel of them to carry out all the checks THEN say your on a waiting list! i would refer them back to the 'communicating efectively' competency!

Did you receive this from Disclosures Scotland or from DWP? if its from DWP then they would have a copy...the original has been sent for your records....but if you have given your address to Disclosure Scotland to receive the certificate...then you should scan/fax or post a copy to the recruiting officer at DWP...they wont progress your recruitment further till they have a copy of your CRB0
