Before I e-mail David Lamb at FSCS as suggested above, can anyone who has received a reply via this route tell me what information they put in their e-mail - IceSave account number or initial FSCS reference number?
I never trust email addresses posted on forums so the only information I was prepared to supply was the FSCS reference number.
As it happens, it is a genuine email address and the ref number was sufficient to get a very prompt response from the person.0 -

Thanks for the information Sloughflint, I must admit to being slightly gullible in this instance, however David Lamb did respond to me. I will be more attentive in future.0 -

Got cheque today for a ftb account opened on 17th March 2008.0

Received compensation cheque for Fixed bond this morning, Interest paid to October 2008.
However bond does not mature till May 2009!
Claim form had been sent off in January 2009, two fixed Bond accounts, marked wait to maturity for compensation and interest. Fortunately I have retained a copy.
Received letter in January from FSCS confirming receipt of my instructions.
Anyone else had this problem ?

DeeCee, I've not heard of anyone else with the same problem as you so it seems to be a one-off error at the moment.
Has the same error been made for both of your fixed term accounts or just one of them?0 -
strawberrylane, thank you for your reply.
Received cheque for one account which matures in May 09, other matures Sep 09..... to date !
Both were noted on the same claim form and there is only one box (Section D Payment Arrangements) which was marked "Wait until maturity"0 -
DeeCee, what are you going to do with the cheque that has come? If you bank it then FSCS would probably say you have accepted it as full and final settlement. If you send it back, you then will worry about ever seeing the money again! Presumably you'll be on the phone to the FSCS on Monday, please let us know what they have to say about it.0

DeeCee, have you spoken to FSCS about this? What did they say?0
