Is CSA1 an exact science? (if so where can I get a copy of the formula) -merged-

are no grounds for any claim I am trying to avoid financial responsibility for my children says mothball
However, all you keep wanting to do is to not pay anything by the questions you ask - implies your intention to get a nil assessment.
What reasons are you given by the CSA for their refusal to do an up to date assessment? If there are none, then you should indeed contact your MP to get it sorted. I am all for making cases correct, but I fear that we don't get the whole story on forums like these - only one side of the story which is not always as it is set out by the poster - no offence.0 -
They are all legitimate reasons for refusing to do an assessment for the time you requested. You request a reassessment, the CSA tell you which payslips to send in - you send it different ones, so they won't do it. They HAVE to have them which cover the effective date, ie the date you requested it or the date they have chosen if they are doing the assessment themselves. If you don't send in the relevant payslips then they are within their rights to refuse and must refuse to do it. They give a timescale under which you must return the info - if you don't then it is too late and you have to start again. So, I would advise that you ask for a reassessment and send in your latest 2 payslips (or 5 if you are paid weekly). You are arguing for the sake of it here - you must abide by the timescales laid down otherwise they don't have to do the reassessment - it boils down to whether you want it done or not. They won't back date it if you don't supply the info within the timescales. You will need to start again and get it sorted from now.0

My DEO was sent to an address the CSA knew I did not live at and the first I knew of it was when my wage packet was light by the alleged amount of the arrears.
An organisation which is generally accepted as not fit for purpose should not be allowed the power to collect via a DEO without court sanction.0 -

Not always so. If you are well prepared and stand your ground there are instances where the LO will not be awarded.
I think I have an LO for council tax. First I knew was a bailiff turn up in a van early one morning while on my way out to my shift, funny he wanted to levy on my bicycle as I cycled off to work. He knocked everyone else out of bed!The CSA is unjust, oppressive and discriminates men. If you tell me otherwise then 2 and 2 is 5, and you have a Ph.D in rendering bovine fecal matter.0 -
my partner pays a fortune every month in maintenance for his kids yet he hasn't seem them since August - not even a phone call. This wasn't through anything that happened just the PWC decided just out of spite not to let him see them anymore just because she can...even after a judge recommended contact.
it's not right that he's not even getting to see themTime is the best teacherShame it kills all the students

Is asking for a reassessment the same as asking for an appeal?
What is the point of a reassessment when the CSA has a right to refuse to backdate it? My current assessment is about to be nullified when JSA kicks in.The CSA is unjust, oppressive and discriminates men. They have refused to backdate because you didn't comply with the requests for the correct payslips - you requested it, so you must comply with the timescales - you didn't so they refused.
You may now ask for a reassessment based on your current income - meaning you call them up now, and they will ask for last month's and this month's payslips to use so they can do it. If you send in November and December they will refuse again as they aren't the correct payslips.0 -

Be realistic, the system would be chaos if what you propose were to happen. Time scales have to be built into the system.
And no they are not the same at all.0 -
No it isn't the same thing. You would be appealling against their decision not to backdate the assessment - but you can ask for another one from now.0
