Is CSA1 an exact science? (if so where can I get a copy of the formula) -merged-

Yes but the CSA already had the information

And more to the point what if they were to divulge personal information from an abused PWC to the NRP abuser.

I didn't say I thought it was correct Mark, of course it's a blatant disregard for the DPA but I have to think ouside the box to try and get things moving.

It's a bit like Mothballed trying to work out the least amount of hours to work to not pay CSA.

Some of the things that PWC and NRP's do are underhand but we all do them for our own reasons and in my case it is financial gain and security for my daughter.

I know, and i was not having a go !

It just annoys me that some caseworkers can act in such a way.

Happy new year by the way !

Love it! Im off now as I've too much to drink :beer::beer: and just answered a call to do with my business and thought it was a cold caller. I had to do some sweet talking! It might be dangerous ( to me ) to stay on the computer now...second bottle of wine...nothing to eat.

Sod the CSA now...off to continue celebrate the new year. I'm staying indoors - it's safer.

All the best to ALL for 2009.

That is an incorrect analysis. I am currently paying full-whack 40% of salary based on me working 75 hours a week. When I work my normal 40 hour week I earn less than signing on the dole. Afforded by a zero housing allowance I asked the CSA to put things right. It was the CSA's choice not to do so and left me with no alternative than signing on.
The CSA is unjust, oppressive and discriminates men. If you tell me otherwise then 2 and 2 is 5, and you have a Ph.D in rendering bovine fecal matter.

are you sure you need the solicitor?

I cant get the CSA to put things right under my own power. A lawyer is the only way to go with this.
    missprice wrote: »
if you are not working you can probably do it all yourself

Thats the plan, signing on will free up time for me to build the case.

try finding NACSA and/or a CSA bb, they will help more than i can

I think NACSA is a support group and this forum does that very well. I think i need a lawyer because I dont have the diciplines to face a court as a litigant. What is a CSA bb? I might sign up for NACSA because two heads are better than one.

you can ask for and cannot be denied a change of circumstances review and make clear what you do/dont/did earn.

Been there done that. Its been beat to death.

assume now i read more that you are on CSA 1

you can ask (but they dont have to do it) to be put on CSA 2 which is simpler to work out. if it helps i am sure that everyone is meant to be on it by now.

Its CSA1 and the general advice on this forum is only the PWC can switch to CSA2, closing a case 13 weeks or more or I poke my pecker where it shudnt b creating another PWC.

if you have a current and proper rent book, its a valid document and they cannot just diregard it.

I dont live in social housing so I dont have a rent book. The CSA chooses not to accept my tenancy agreement because my landlord is my uncle having the same surname as me and this (apparently) classes me as a non dependant. Does nayone know the legislation that defines a non dependant?

    from memory
    if your on CSA1
take your wage (what you actually come out with)

    take off any
    mortgage/rent
    pension
what ever is left is called disposable income
you must pay (iirc) 30% of that disposable.
other items can be taken off wage too but if its a loan etc you need to prove what its for.

Thats what its supposed to be. The CSA base my wage is on 75 hours a week when I normaly work 40. No rent or tax is allowed. My other debts except rent arrears are going into an IVA and will migrate to full bankraptcy when I have signed on JSA. This should get the council tax bailiffs and debt collectors off my back.

do the figures you have to pay add up?

    The CSA says they do.
    missprice wrote: »
plus now if your on jobseekers you can stop paying

Other say I pay £7 a week. Its not fully understood if I get £60.50 JSA a week after paying that £7.

also your girlfriend never has to give her wages or any other details, although CSA will try to bully you. CSA DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW WHAT ANYONE ELSE IS EARNING

This is causing a lot of friction between us. She is unpappy with the CSA interfering with her money matters and dictating how she should spend her earnings by saying she should pay more for our living arrangements if I return to work.

It's correct for my perception. Whilst I have a degree of sympathy for you being on CSA1 and all the surrounding issues, you have been asking quite alot about the most 'tax efficient' way of being on CSA1 and trying to ascertain how many hours you could work to still stay on a nil assessement.

Mothballed...am just thinking there whilst doing the dishes (glam eh?!!)

If you apply for JSA then you will need to be seen to be looking for employment. You mentioned before that you could leave your employment on medical grounds - would you not be better applying for the new Incapacity Benefit? which is now called Employment and Support Allowance?

    Here's a link - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/FinancialSupport/esa/index.htm

There would be less pressure to find a job and if you are going to be looking after the baby from May, it may be a better option.
  • Im not worried about being pressured to find work while on JSA, I can deal with that and the credit crunch favours me anyway. I only need JSA to clear my rent arrears, get the CSA's attention and stop this crazy CSA1 assessment. JSA also attracts free court fees and legal aid. The CSA does not allow any of that. I only need it to May 09, long before the heavy mob at the dole office bring me in for interrogation. I dont need JSA when baby arrives.

My girlfriend is a medical doctor and says I am well within the remit of having my own GP make an official diagnosis for stress exhaution and depression etc but this could impact my future employment prospects and insurance premoiums because the diagnosis goes on my medical record. Sickness benefits has been explored and offers better benefits over JSA, but we have ruled it out because of long term damage. I need a 150% clean medical record.
