    Hahahaha

You might want to look at what protection they miss out on the free ones.
    a search will find them....
A search on these boards will show virtually all the people who have infected machines are running free solutions...

To answer the OPs question, it's a toss up between Eset NOD32 or Kaspersky. Both offer free trials.

Free ones don't have all the tools of the ones you buy, unless you know different - in which case please post a link to the appropriate site.

    Thanks :)

  • Have a read of the following thread for a discussion of Anti-Virus software. To summarise I'd say my choice for a free AV is Avira AntiVir.

My choice for a paid AV would either be ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky with, for me, NOD32 winning.

LOL we posted at the same time.

Kaspersky is one I am considering, I haven't heard of the other one.

    Define 'all the features'?
I use Avast (though going back to Avira) for my main anti virus
    PC Tools for my firewall
    Spybot to prevent certain nasties
NOSCRIPT plugin to stop all scripts in firefox
Malwarebytes as a secondary scanner (Amongst others)

and if you want to be impenatrable, SANDBOXIE for all net use

    Wht is Sandboxie?

What about general internet security, not just AV?

    http://www.sandboxie.com/

Sandboxie stops ANY information from being written to the drive when using the net

    Define 'general internet security'?
Avast scans for viruses, trojans and spyware anyways (As well as email scanning)
NOSCRIPT prevents any trojans from getting through the web
I also use SUPER ANTISPYWARE as another scanner just in case
