Well, back in residence yesterday but didn't get a chance to post here. Was freexing here yesterday, the back of the house is on underfloor heating and it takes a while to come up to temp when it's been off, the first time we've ever done it in the winter, so didn't know it would be that bad. Was 11C when we got home. Now not quite 20C, so only got one fleece on today! Kept my winter boots on in the house yesterday as it was so cold!
THink we've just had one of our cheapest meals ever. It was turkey pie. Scraps of turkey (huge heap) were salvaged from mum's turkey carcass after she made stock, so free! Onions had been yellow stickered. Sauce made with milk powder in with onion cooking water. THe milk powder was from approved food and worked out at about 2p per pint. Full price knob of butter and home made shortcrust pastry out of the freezer. It went down very well with dh and ds.
Done the ironing, it was a bad week for ds to put his shirts in the wash with the sleeves wrong way out. He has to do his own when any turn up like this. THere were 8 LOL!!! Ha!
Have started to sort out finances, paid a few bills. reconciled the cheque book etc etc
Done all sorts of bits and pieces.
Also spent a long time sorting menu for Wed night. then made a shopping list. Decided to leave shopping till tomorrow so that I can have more time to remember the things that I have forgotten! Didn't want to buy too much really, as trying to use store cupboard things, but as this event was planned before I decided on the storecupboard attempt I don't mind.
Hope you've all enjoyed your day and have a good one tomorrow.

Little bear is an overexcited birthday boy, and covered in paint which turned out to be nearer felt tips than paint with sponge end on tube. The carpet is getting a new set of stains.
Dear heart has sliced into his other hand with the same knife and both of his hands are hurting.
We had a really easy tea, using up some of the last of the 'easy' food in the freezer. Tomorrow is chilli con charlie. Also I would like to bake, but my brother is coming and has the inexactitude of appointments down to a science. 'Sometime after lunch' can mean up to midnight. It will be absolutely marvellous to see him.
Hugs to all.
Also special hugs to Mudgekin. You have a great quantity of people here who can help and support you. You are not on your own.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Pink...so sorry to hear about your poor cat...those traps are illegal so if you happen to find out where it came from you should notify the police.

Evening all :santa2:
Had quite a good day today, went into M/S but not impressed with their sale. I saw quite a lot I fancied in BHS but not in my size, but I did get the Red Herring chunky cardigan I wanted from Debenhams, in a purple/blue colour reduced down from £28 to £14 I was well pleased with that.
Then went into BM and saw a short coat in a darkish cerise with huge black buttons, not my usual colour for coats but I tried it on, and just loved it, it was reduced down to £20 but it cost me nothing.....little sis sent me a £20 gift voucher for Christmas :T I love her to bits x
Never saw any boots I liked though, still, as usual I will probably see some when I am not looking

Am sorry to hear about the Mudgekins news. Thank heavens for the internet where you will be able to glean some information from the official websites for MND. My heart goes out to you all. Lots of hugs. xxI got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

pinkwinged, that is awful about your cat. Hope she's ok xxx
Have flyladied today!
Also had a NSD. Made shepards pie with the rest of the beef for dh, that went down well with him! DD has the rest of the curry. DS had boiled egg (he is extremely fussy, no idea why as he was weaned better than dd, she was weaned on packs, him on purreed veg!) & I had egg fried rice as had to make rice for dd.
Also made (& froze) a banana loaf. The bananas were black. No point keeping it for now though as we have enough xmas nibbles. And I cut back this year on what I bought, lol!!!!
Rang Sky as the Sky + is playing up. We were unable to put another channel ontoday while another was recording. Also we tend to tape progs on advert channels & start watching them 10-15 mins in to avoid the ads. Recently it's been playing up, we can't rewind or ff. Got an engineer coming out on Weds. Discovered have been paying for insurance for nothing though as have free warenty till next May. Need to see if I can get refund on what I have paid since May this year.
Anyway, this is turning into an essay!
Speak to you all tomorrow

Evening folks,
Back at work today - came back from my parents this morning. Was planning on coming back last night but it was so icy, I did not fancy driving in those conditions.
Speaking of ice - I am sooooo cold. I turned my heating off whilst I was away and now I am sat here with a sleeping bag, two heaters, a coat and I am still nowhere near warm.
Anyway, I have changed the bed, and will stick a wash on in a minute, ready to be put out in the morning. Need to get my shopping list sorted, and possibly bought before 1st Jan (I am cheating slightly at the 4k challenge , and buying all of January's bills now)
Mudgekin - Sorry to hear your new, hugs to you and your DH
BusyGirl - I went camping in Ireland a few years ago and it was fabulous. Make sure you take/hire a car though, as the buses over there were extortionate!
Pink winged - :mad . Did your cat not get attacked with an air rifle some months ago as well? (or am I getting you confused). Thank goodness she is alright. My brothers cat lost half his tail shortly after we got him - he does not curl it round him when he eats, and my mum accidentally trod on it ( we had a tiled floor at the time).
Hope you all had a good day :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hi guys,
Pink winged - another cat lover here, we have four, just been adopted by another one!!!! - please give Tilly an extra cuddle and tickle under the chin from me. xxxx
Mudgekin and OH - Gentlest of hugs to you both. I am thinking of you.
It has been 2 very laaaaazy days here at chez SmokyI only got dressed today because Asda were delivering   . I have passed the half way mark of being off with the kids and despite LO's 'mad' rampage today all are damage free and none the worse for wear despite repeated stops in the naughty corner.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
It is so bloomin cold it's unreal and despite the heating being on 2 all day I have succumbed for an hour this evening to put the gas fire on. I hate being cold!!!. The kids and I are eating well and have used up most of the left overs and the two eldest are actually asking if it is home made food they are eating each meal - :A proud mummy moment :A Pity the LO only picks at his but I am serving him the same as the others and maybe one day!!!!
Tomorrow the deccies come down and the lounge gets blitzed and I WILL get the nets and windows done downstairs. That means I have to get dressed again! NOT a pretty sight in my shortie nightie cleaning the sindows.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Gentle hugs to all in need tonight and I hope you are enjoying your break pen-pin.
Smoky. xxxxxx
ps, 5 nsd's today (not counting Asda who will bill in a couple of days) :T :T :TIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Just read the thread now and hugs to House of Mudgekin. There is lots of support out there and don't be afraid to mither people to get it! Mr Rage is on back up for wedding driving tomorrow - so that's £25 for him. I will hopefully pick up some typing tomorrow. We haven't done much today except recover from the last few days - had pasta and pesto for dinner which was a lovely change from everything we've been having. Anyway, off to bed for me now.But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

DD(23) has gone back to Oxford but will be coming back for uncle's funeral once we know when it is.
DD(19) is feeling a bit better now so that is a relief as I was getting worried about her. We went shopping today and got her two lovely dresses in the sales (one is a smart black dress she can wear to the funeral) and a pair of black trousers for her little sister.
Made curry for tea in the Remoska and also baked two loaves as we will be away tomorrow visiting DH's aunt whose husband has just died. It's a 140 mile round trip so DH will be shattered. Ordered flowers but they might not be delivered till Wednesday.
Hugs to everybody"This site is addictive!"
