Still recovering from a cold, but getting there eventually. Xmas tree came down last night. It was taking up too much roon considering all of Lil's new toys. We're going to have a sort out and will 'evacuate' a lot of the older stuff. Should be able to reduce what we have by 50%.

I need to sort out the freezer, but I've been feeling so carp lately that i just haven't had either the energy or inclanation. May have a little go tonight once OH is back. Difficult to do anything with toad about.

Our bedroom is also looking better now that the presents have gone. Lil has a habit of going through all her draws, so at the moment all her clothes are in our room. The plan is to move one of her cupboards into our room with her clothes. Just need to get around to it.

Lily is now in a big bed, and whilst she occasionally falls out in the middle of the night its pretty successful. She's so much happier with a proper matress.

Lunch is whatever I can be bothered to make, and for tea we have a chicken in the fridge. So I need to get off my bum and put it in the slow cooker.

Lots of floor cleaning and hoovering to do. Just need to 'encourage' myself to do it. Just can't be bothered right now.
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

    Good morning, lovely people.

    :hello:

Hope all are tickety-boo and had a wonderful Christmas. But, my goodness, isn't it cold? The wheat hot cushion-type thing will be put into action today for the first time.

Sadly, it's Laundry Day. No, no. I must be keen and eager... :j I'm just so excited. It's Laundry Day! Who believes me?

Put your Christmas socks on and switch off the heating and clean to keep warm. I'm obviously in some strange masochistic mood today. Obviously in need of hot chocolate.

    Group hug!

    Claire
    :hello:
  • Morning all, hope everyone is well. Big ((((hugs)))) to the Mudgekins.

I overslept a lot today - it doesn't matter as both of us are off work, but it's left me feeling fuzzy-headed and that isn't helping me think straight. It'll get better *reaches for a coke* I'll be trying to give that up in the New Year, so help me!

I'm going to try and get us all back to eating healthily - easier said than done when Pringles still line the cupboard and the doors won't close for chocolates that were bought as gifts - and do a homemade sweet and sour chicken tonight. Last night's meatballs actually made enough for another two meals, so that'll go into the freezer today for when we're a little pressed for time or I don't feel like cooking. Plus, I got really lax towards the end of the year where meal-planning was concerned, so I need a push on that. :)

So, with a good promising start to the day, I'll try and make this a new me. :) All the best, everyone. Have a good day, and (((hugs))) to those that need them or aren't feeling their best. Luckily, my lack of energy, achiness and runny nose didn't turn into the massive cold/flu that is going about, so that made me happy :D

    Good morning all

A hard frost this morning in this part of Kent - outside thermometer is reading -3  . Heating was on all day yesterday but only set to 18 degrees...by the time it went off at 6pm the house was warm enough to see us through to bed time....it's taking it's time to warm up agian today though.

DD2 is off to a party in a bit, DD1 is off to town with DH and I am going to get the decs down - I want to do a proper clean so will set to whilst they're all out.....our eldest cat has tried daily to chew the branches of the tree....daft old thing - it's articifial so can't taste nice.

Sorted the fridge yesterday and froze everything that needed saving, had another roast dinner to finish the veg/odds and ends up. Did a freezer inventory and meal planned for the month, sorted the bathroom cabinets/storage out and did an inventory there too.....feeling a little more sorted now.

Need to make some banana muffins, a couple of soda bread loaves and some rolls up for the freezer today, will do that when I cook dinner tonight to save energy.

Hope you all have a fab day.

    P.S MrsMorten - Didn't realise you were pregnany - congrats!! :j

    Good morning all!

Hugs to Mudgekin and Mr M, it must have been an incredible shock for you both xx

Well today is ds's 15th birthday, is he awake and celebration, is he heck?! In fact none of the children are awake lol! Probably because being bad took it out of them yesterday, started with dd3 messing about at the dinner table, cue her being sent to her room, dd2 then started sniggering about it and muttering silly things, she then joined dd1! ds and dd1 were on washing up duties, ds flicked dd1 with the tea towel, something he's been warned about several times cos he's always doing it to wind her up! Anyway not only did it wind her up, it went in her eye, and being a drama queen she swore that she'd been blinded and would need a white stick and guidedog henceforth, so she was sent to her room for a lie down lol! ds was then questioned about his behaviour, which he denied, silly boy was being watched by his father when he flicked his sister so might as well have admitted it, he knows lying drives me dotty, was in the middle of telling him off when he started denying it all again and swearing, ds was duly sent to his room!

I think I must've looked really scary cos they didn't reappear again all evening, I didn't even shout! Note to self, remember that look cos it obviously works well!!!!

Anyway, today WILL be a better day! After the troops have arisen and ds has been given his cards and pressies I shall be whizzing out for some more eggs, then I can make his cake, which I didn't do yesterday as I was so peeved with him! We shall be having a late lunch/early dinner of Chicken New Yorker, which is ds's current favourite meal, followed by blackberry and apple pie (also one of his fave's, but mainly because I had to take some stewed apples and blackberries out of the freezer to fit other stuff in lol).

Other than that I shall be doing the usual breadmaking and swishing and swiping and loading the wm and making more yoghurt, then I'm back to w**k tonight! Wonder if I could send annoying customers home to their beds......

    Morning all,

Off to meet an ex colleague for coffee in a bit, which will be nice, haven't seen her for ages.

Mudgekin, hugs to you and your OH, use all help you can get and rant here if you need to.

DS1 and family leaving this morning, DGD2 told me that they will be back in a couple of weeks, so that to look forward to.

Going to Kerry to-morrow overnight, as a cousin of Ulick's died yesterday, he and his wife have been great friends to us over many years so wouldn't think of not going to funeral.

Hugs to all who have not fully recovered from lurgies which were so prevalent before Christmas and to all who need or want a hug for whatever reason

have started blitzing the house, need to de-clutter . serious lack of space and can't move at the mo. however were desprate to move so we have said we will re-asses the situation every 3 months then it won't seem so daunting than if we said can't move for 2 years say. ( sorry about my rambling's)

As for food i'm gonna attempt to make a fish pie for tea as we have had so many roasts and meats this last week feel like somethign different. and if get chance i'm gonna make some of DD&D's iced fingers roll's. need to completely blitz kitchen but thats a job once rest of house is done as it will take hour's, lol.

    Good morning everyone,

    ((HUGS)) Mudgkin

Back to work today for me, but as the boys are playing nicely with the lego, thought i would pop in here quickly, as ive not posted for a few days!!!

Took all the Christmas decs down yesterday, i love Christmas and put the decs up early and really enjoy the build up, but once the day has been and gone, ive had enough, so its really nice to have a clean house again!!!

Nothing much else been happening here, been using up all the Christmas leftovers and that has prob been the only OS thing that has been happening here - a lot of sitting around eating chocolate and watching DVDs (hasnt tv been dire this year!!!) is prob the most exciting thing ive done. Did brave the Next sale on Saturday and i now have some jeans and trousers that fit!!! I have trouble finding trousers, as i need a long leg, and havnt been able to afford any until the sales, so its nice now not to be hitching them up all the time! (mind you, the amount ive eaten the last few days, the 1 1/2 stones ive lost could be creaping back on!!!)
Anyway, better go, i sit here doing nothing for an hour and the boys play nicely, as soon as i come on the comp, they now want my attention! Typical, well they pay the bills so must go.

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
