Some of the bills to pay will be higher as calculated the wages for 5 weeks but petrol, food and childcare for 4 weeks for some reason, but will still have a good excess left if we dont go overboard and oh stays out of the garages. My debt free date will be before 2014 at this rate!!!!!!!!

  • Hiya, the other insurances i pay yearly but am gonna need to put a little more away soon to pay for them. Our sky is that much as its sky (no movies or sports), broadband and multi room. Our tv isnt digital upstairs so had that put in instead. was handy when ds2 was a tiddly baby as it meant i could doze of sorts whilst ds1 watched tv in bed with me. now it just saves us having to buy a digital tv when it switches over sometime soon.......(think its june time for us??)

well went shopping with good intentions and still spent over £70 this week!!! i bought quite a bit of fruit and veg to get us all eating a bit better and can use the leftovers for ds2's purees. why is eating better more expensive??!!!

Forgot to add the extra coming out to pay gas and elec final bills, but need to ring them and ask them to take it out a little later to ensure we dont go over the overdraft limit......................

i cant wait for the day this is no longer a worry and we are debt free and living within our means!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sad.gifHello everyone! Ds2 full of a cold today bless him and i am starting to feel a little bunged up and fuzzy headed. Have dosed ds2 up with calpol and vapour rub and im enjoying a hot vimto! Despite this, i have done really well today and actually got loads sorted.
    • i have rung work and got my rota (boo hoo :( )
    • sent off the £76 for my pin number renewal (cant work without it)
    • sent off the £30 off elec voucher
    • opened bank account for ds2 and set up standing order to pay £5 in every month
    • rung and tried to cancel oh second mobile but still need to write a letter (actually got the address this time)
    • found ds2's teething powder £2 cheaper than in asda:D
    • cashed in cheque from annoying advert people
Not bad for a day, still a little worried bout the bank balance before the mortgage comes out in a week, still have to get some work pants, ds1's curtain pole (although have £10 voucher towards it) and next weeks shopping so we are really cutting it fine..................................... and we are still waiting for oh's overtime money!!!!

  •   Just checked bank balance and had to up the overdraft to £3k to make sure the mortgage and everything else goes out without going over causing charges.

really not happy about it but nothing else i could do!!!!!!! hoping when i start getting a wage in this will reduce dramatically!!!!! really am going to have to take it easy with debt repayments next month and we are now considering taking a mortgage holiday to help get us out of the overdraft.

why is it some people seem to find repaying debts off no problems and can pay huge amounts off in short spaces of time whilst others (me) struggle despite trying so hard?????

Oh Rags!!! I'm getting there really slowly too! :o

I'm sure when you get back to work things will settle down into a nice new debt-busting routine!! We all know there is no quick route to becoming DF!! Its going to take a while (and I mean a while!!)

Just remember (for your own sanity!) that you have done really well to date and you will continue to do so!! Any extra thrown at the debts is a bonus!! You just have to leave enough for the essentials (sorry, don't want to sound like I am preaching!)

Have you thought about setting aside money as you go into a separate account and then put it toward the debts at the end of the month when you know you can definitely afford it?

Let us know what you decide on the mortgage holiday - maybe post as a separate thread if you would like some suggestions (sorry, non from me - never had a mortgage!!)

    Big hugs, Nats x
