Hi ciaron454
Sorry I can't offer any ideas but I wanted to say good luck in 2009. I'm sorry that some people have been rather hard on you. I know how difficult it is for youngsters to find work as I have a 17 year old myself. He applied for loads of jobs before he got lucky.
I think it show initiative on your part that you are looking for ways to boost your income.
I can't think of any online ways but have your thought about things like car washing? I hate that job and can sometimes persuade my teenager to do it (for a fee!)
Best of luck.0 -
The Best thing to do by far is to do mystery shopping,only some site will allow u but all the other ways are very slow and u earn painfully little for the amount of time survey take. Anyway That my advise.
There are companies looking for 16-18 yearolds to do mystery shopping for age related purchases. Pays quite well.0 -
why are some people being so harsh to the OP, he is only 16 for goodness sakes, do you want to scare people off from coming on here and seeking advice? I myself have had some pretty insulting comments about things in the past. The OP is just asking advice, its not for you to say what he should or shouldn't be doing, you don't know the circumstances so back off.what goes around, comes around...........0

Was that bit aimed at my most recent post? Because if so, I would like to point out that my point was as follows:The upshot of all of this is there is no *easy* way to make money. Sad but true - and if there were, we'd all be at it.
Which I think you'd likely admit is right. There is no EASY way to make money per se. They all take time and effort.
I stand by my original points - the most accessible ways of generating online income normally open up at 18 - and even then, they're rarely going to better or even match a real-world job. (Not always, before anyone dives wildly at me
)
Regardless, I hope you find a way to get some dosh. :beer: (<<< soft drinks though as you're underage and I don't drink. lol)On the up

If you are ok up a ladder and can get hold of some., how about looking for overgrown guttering and offering to clean them out for a few quid. I hate doing ours and a lot of people don't have ladders. Nobody seems to offer this service.0

OP, I have a son of 16 who was lucky enough to get a temp part-time job at Tesco before Christmas and they kept him on. But he was just in the right place at the right time. However, he has in the past, delivered the Yellow Pages (that was advertised in the local pages) and delivered free advertising leaflets. Both were hard work and didn't make him a lot of money but they made him some and he was happy enough. There might be a number you can call to find out when your next local yellow Pages is due out then keep your eye out for ads in the paper. I remember they needed loads of folk when my son did it and they've rung us each year since to ask for help.
This won't help you in the short term I know but it's an idea. BTW, I have a daughter too and she semed to find work more easily than her brother, don't know why....still only in Tesco though!0 -
i guess i should of said 10minutes in a car and to do it in 10minutes you have to go on the motorway, and walking there is relatively unsafe due to it being along main roads (50mph roads) with thin paths or country roads with no paths at all, ya know feel free to take your pick, and yeah there are buses but the route they take there is through another 3 villages in the area so its like a 40min bus ride
Could you cycle?
If you could get an all-day at the weekend job, the journey might be worth it? You can always read, or listen to music, or chill....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
